2012 Winter Indoor SeasonRegistration for the 2012 TUC Winter season is now open! All prices INCLUDE HST (prices to be posted shortly). Registration AND payment confirm your spot. If you register, but don't pay, this does NOT hold your spot! Please note that TUC Indoor Leagues are 6-ON-6 speedpoint games, 4:2 male: female gender ratio on the field (except Monday Elite/Competitive which will be 3:3 this year), game length is ACTUAL time playing - all taxes are included in our pricing. The Winter indoor season includes high quality playing locations, all of which boast state-of-the-art sport turf: Lamport Stadium, Downsview Hangar, Varsity Centre, and Upper Canada College. All rosters must have a minimum of 10 players (we strongly recommend more than 10) and we recommend a maximum number of 16 players. Hat Teams in the Thursday League will have 12 players. Games will be scheduled to evenly share time slots amongst teams as best as possible. No schedule requests please. All players must be valid TUC members in addition to paying league fees. For players joining TUC who do not yet have a valid membership we offer a Winter Pro-Rated membership for $30. For more information on TUC memberships visit this page. All indoor leagues use the no-pull format. There are no pulls between points; once the offence scores a point, the disc is placed in the endzone where it's caught and the defense immediately takes possession. For more information, see the Fall/Winter Indoor Rules page. 2012 Winter LeaguesWomen's Sunday League at Varsity CentreThe Sunday Women's League is a 6-on-6, competitive/intermediate league offering. All players must be TUC members. Regular Membership costs $70 per year and runs from April through March. For Winter League we do offer a Pro-rated membership fee of $30 for players just joining the Club in the winter. Otheriwse you need to be a regular member. All prices include HST. Rules regarding game play, substitutions, and more can be found on the TUC Indoor Rules page. Team captains must assist in enforcing the rules. Please abide by the Spirit of the Game when dealing with this (and any other game) issue. Spirit, Safety & FieldsSpirit of the Game is an integral part of Ultimate. In order to encourage teams to play with Spirit, we are requiring all teams to submit a Spirit score as well as a game score after each game. It is the responsibility of both team captains to submit a spirit score for the other team after every game. Metal cleats are not allowed under any circumstances. Plastic/rubber cleats are allowed at Lamport Stadium, Varsity Centre, UCC, and Lakshore, but NOT at the Downsview Hangar. Running shoes or turf shoes at the Hangar only, absolutely no cleats there! Foot blocks are not allowed except with the explicit prior agreement of both team captains. Any footblock, attempted or successful, should be treated as a foul. Since field space is difficult to find, the TUC is always concerned about the possibility of losing currently permitted fields. Permits can be revoked if teams engage in prohibited activities or as the result of complaints from neighbourhood groups. Therefore, we remind everyone of the following policies:
League ContactsThe head convenors for the 2012 Indoor Leagues are TBD. General questions about Indoor league should be addressed to hangar@tuc.org. All Leagues have their own contact emails; winter-sunday@tuc.org, winter-monday@tuc.org, winter-tuesday@tuc.org, winter-women@tuc.org, and winter-men@tuc.org. However, in order to reduce the flood of emails to the convenor, if you are a player and have a question about the TUC or the league, please ask your team captain first or contact the appropriate person as listed on the TUC Contacts page. Your team captain is your first point of contact with the TUC when it comes to administrative matters. Hopefully this provides all the necessary information to get your Ultimate season rolling. See you on the field! Playoff NotesSee the League & Playoff Participation Rules. For more information please contact your league convenor. |
