2013 Juniors

G.T.A. All Star Ultimate

In 2013, the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Southern Ontario region will send one Junior Women (all female players born in 1995 or later) “All-Star” teams to compete for GOLD at the 2013 Canadian Ultimate Championships, to be held this year in Vancouver, British Columbia.

OverDrive Girls Try Outs
Try outs will take place Friday May 10th + Friday May 17th at Northern Secondary School (851 Mt. Pleasant Rd) from 5:00-7:00pm. Please bring a light/dark jersey, water, cleats, disc, and $20 to cover costs of the fields.

Tournaments/Training Camps

a) July 11, Training Camp (9am – 4pm), (Location Parkway Forest Park)
b) July 13 & 14, Ontario Regionals, Kingston, (with 2 night stay–leaving July 12th at 9:00am)
c) July 25, Training Camp (9am – 4pm), (Location Parkway Forest Park)
d) July 27 & 28, No Borders Tournament, Ottawa, (with 2 night stay–leaving July 26th at 9:00am)
e) August 5 & 6, Training Camp (9am – 4pm), (Location Parkway Forest Park)
f) August 14 to 19, Nationals, Vancouver, B.C., (with 5 night stay–leaving August 10, return August 15)


Wednesdays from 6:00pm until 8:45pm at Brebeuf Catholic H.S., 211 Steeles Ave. E., Toronto:

Mondays from 6:00pm until 8:45pm at Parkway Forest Park, 25 Forest Manor Rd., Toronto:

In 2013, to further develop Junior (born 1995 to 1999 or later) ultimate by competing at an elite level and building a strong base for highly competitive ultimate for years to come.

GTA All-Star Ultimate is excited to present to you the following levels:

OverDrive: This team will feature top competitive players from the Greater Toronto Area who are born in 1995 or later -- an exemption is possible for players born in 1994 but who are still in highschool. You are committed to a high level of fitness and have exceptional skills and knowledge of the game. Members of Overdrive will commit to 2 practices, all training camps, compete at the provincial tournaments and go for the gold in 2013! at the Canadian Ultimate Championships.

HighOctane: This team will feature players who are born in 1996 or later and is committed to develpoing their skills and knowledge, to excel on the All-Star team in the future. Members of HighOctane will commit to two practices (6:00pm to 8:30pm), most training camps, and develop their skills at two provincial tournaments and potentially at the National level if their is sufficient interest.

Practices & Training Camp

Practices and games are a great way to prepare for try outs and an opportunity for the coaches to get to see you play before the try out day.

Anyone can come to the practices, but you need to be invited to the training camps.

If you're looking to raise your game, and have a great time doing it, come on out!

The All-Star team: OverDrive Junior Girls were silver medalists and Junior Open were semi-finalists at 2012 Canadian Ultimate Championships in Victoria.  OverDrive 2011 Mixed division team maintained where the 2010 group finished - with a silver medal at the 2011 Canadian Ultimate Championships in Ottawa. This year the plan is to put in another strong showing and taking the GOLD medal in Juniors Open and Juniors Women's divisions.

GTA All-Stars Ultimate carries on from team DIRT. DIRT is a competitive juniors team that has been to Nationals from 2002 until 2009. In 2008 and 2009 DIRT won bronze and in 2007 the silver. Throughout DIRT's seven year history it has travelled as far as Seattle, Sherbrooke, Winnipeg and Ottawa to compete in other junior tournaments.
