Looking for a Women's Touring team for 2010? You've come to the right place! Toronto generally supports several Women's teams competing at tournaments in eastern Canada, the US northeast, and beyond. In 2010 there are three Toronto women's touring teams: Lotus, Lily, and Feisty.
2010 Tryout Information
Lotus has already begun the tryout process in preparation for Club World's in Prague. If you would like more information, please contact them at lotusultimate AT gmail DOT com
Lotus starts tryouts on:
- Tuesday April 13th from 7pm until 9pm
- Wednesday April 14th from 7pm until 9pm
The other two teams will hold open tryouts next to Lotus at Downsview Sports Park on the following dates:
- Tuesday April 20th from 7pm until 9pm
- Wednesday April 21st from 7pm until 9pm
And Lily and Feisty will continue at Riverdale Park East on:
- Thursday April 29th from 6:30pm until 8:30pm
- Thursday May 6th from 6:30pm until 8:30pm
We invite you to come out and meet the leaders and find out what team fits for you. We encourage you to attend all tryout dates as we will be participating in different activities on each day, and weather in April can always cancel one date unexpectedly. Cuts will be made throughout the tryout process.

Lotus Ultimate 2010
Lotus vision – to further develop Ontario’s strong women’s ultimate system by continuing to develop elite players in Ontario.
Lotus 2010 goal – build a strong women’s team to attend and perform well at WUCC in Prague while continuing to develop our skills towards competing as Capitals in UPA Fall Series 2010.
Team Structure
- WUCC and Ultimate Canada rules require the team to be comprised of at least 12 players from the Lotus 2008 or Lotus 2009 rosters.
- Remaining spots are open with consideration being given to players who will help the team achieve its goals for 2010, including participation in Fall Series.
Leadership and Selection Committee: Lotus will be selected by Kaitlyn (“Hoodie”) Lovatt, Kristin (“Rooks”) Laurin, Alyson Walker and Kate Crump. Hoodie and Rooks will be part of the leadership team going into the season and will be accompanied by one additional leader from Toronto and one from Ottawa to be determined after the team is selected.
Commitment: Practices: 2x per week – likely Tuesdays and Thursdays in Toronto, and on days TBD in Ottawa
Practice Weekend: TBD – likely June 26-27
Tourneys:
- TUF – May 8-9
- Boston Invite – June 5-6
- WUCC Prague – July 3-10
Lotus 2010 has no immediate plans to attend CUC 2010. This decision will depend on team interest once the team is formed. Attendance at WUCC is mandatory in order to be considered for the team, although we will be considering players for our practice roster in order to round out our practice numbers. * If you were not on the Lotus roster in 2008 or 2009, you need to attend at least 2 of TUF, Boston and the practice weekend to qualify under roster rules issued by Ultimate Canada (some exceptions apply - if this is an issue for you, please contact us directly).
Tryouts: Tryouts will be conducted in Toronto and Ottawa. Dates to be determined, but they will start in early April, with a final tryout weekend to be held in Toronto, April 24-25 (by invitation only). If you are interested in trying out, please fill out this questionnaire online by March 9th, 2010.
Fall Series: Capitals will once again be bringing players together from all over Ontario for UPA Fall series 2010. Players are not required to play Lotus 2010 or attend Prague to be considered. Applications for Capitals will become available shortly after Prague. Team selection and leadership will follow the same format as previous years. This year, there is an interest in combining earlier (late July/early August) in order to attend more US tourneys prior to the beginning of the series, such as ECC and Labour Day Classic.

Lily Ultimate 2010
Lily’s vision – to support and cultivate women’s Ultimate system by continuing to develop and instill confidence in intermediate players in Ontario with the intention and potential advancement onto elite teams.
Lily’s 2010 goal – to build a strong women’s team to attend and perform well at CUC in Sherbrooke, QC
Team Structure: Lily will carry a roster of 18 - 20 ladies.
Leadership and Selection Committee: Lily will be selected by Bonnie Lee, Anita Verma and Leya Duigu with the help of the women from Lotus.
Commitment: Practices: Mandatory twice a week – Tuesdays and Thursdays w/ optional weekend fitness sessions. Practice Weekend: TBD
Lily is looking to attend the following tournaments:
- TUF – Toronto, May 8 - 9
- No Surf – Cleveland, June
- Jazzfest – Montreal, July
- Regionals – XX, July
- No Borders – Ottawa, July
- Motown Throwdown – Detroit MI, August
- Nationals – Sherbrooke, August
- Chesapeake – Poolesville MD, August (TBD)
- Chicago Heavyweights – Chicago, September (TBD)
Costs: Estimated cost for the season is approximately $300 including jerseys; not including travel, accommodations and additional Lily gear.

Cuts may be made at each date with the final roster completed shortly after TUF. (May 11th date is currently tentative as we may not need it). First Team meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 11th, 2010 @ Scallywags with 1st practice beginning promptly for Thursday, May 13th.
If we use May 11th for a final tryout date, team meeting will be bumped to the Thursday and 1st practice to commence on the following Tuesday.

Feisty Ultimate 2010
Feisty’s Vision – Support and cultivate women’s ultimate in Toronto by inviting new players to come and experience women’s ultimate. Our focus will be on creating a mixed team of intermediate and beginner players which can work together to develop new skills sets and increase the confidence of every player.
Feisty’s Goal – To develop a cohesive, fun team of women.
Team Structure: Feisty will carry a roster for tournaments but will be having open practices so all women who would like to practice and develop as part of a team are welcome.
Leadership

Coach: Jennifer Hawkins
Commitment: Tuesday Practice will be Mandatory for women who plan on attending tournaments. Thursday Practice will be focused on fitness/skill building and will most likely be optional.
