Peter et al, here's an addendum to the knowledge base:
MAB (Mon Ami Burundi) was the mixed team we took to Canadian Nationals in 2002 (not Black Sheep, which was around only for 2003). MAB finished 2nd in Ottawa that year.
MAB also finished 5th at UPA 'Nationals' in 98 (Sarasota) & 99 (San Diego)
Nerve finished 9th at 2001 CUC in Edmonton
Thrive finished second at 1999 CUC in Ottawa
YES and Rebellion finished 4th & 6th at 1998 CUC in Montreal
Also in 1998:
11. Too Bad
14. Love Gravy
4. Game Face
7. Viagara Falls
10. Boom Chicka Boom
5. Huckin Freaks (juniors)
6. Aged To Perfection
I pulled this last list from Ottawa's newsletter in which there are likely far more results, though I don't have time to go through them right now. If anybody is feeling industrious, the archive URL is www.ocua.ca/UH/ |

Pete,
Disco Lemonade was around in 2001 and 2002. It was preceded by Echo in 2000.
It's funny cause I just saw my shirts for both teams back in the Fall when I was moving, but don't know where they ended up.
I will keep trying... |

FYI - Boxx only existed in 2003 & 2004.
In 2005, the team morphed into Eve.
As for a Boxx logo - Hilary need to help me out here... |

| I've summarized the first few of these posts in a new wiki page. I didn't want to do them all, because then what fun would there be for the rest of you? |

hey there Pete,
just some more info on the womens side if you're looking for pre-2000 stuff... (also, you missed Surge in the 2003 season)
1993 - i think it was just a team called the Bodacious TaTas (that name says it all) - the See Jane Rane core had all 'retired'. i think the TaTas were the only womens team that summer but you could always ask one of those pteradactyls as it evens pre-dates me
1994 - Layout Sisters (4th at Nats)
1995 - Layout Sisters (2nd)
1996 - Game Face (2nd), Boom Chicka Boom?
1997 - Game Face (4th), Boom Chicka Boom
1998 - Game Face (4th), a Snatch type team but i can't remember their name (jo gallagher would know)
1999 - Game Face (3rd), Bust?
in 96 through to 99 there were definitely other teams but i can't remember the names - perhaps someone else will see this and pitch in... |

Ambitious project Peter It's like doing research for a dysfunctional family history.
Logos for Dirt, Lotus, Lily, BMF, Zen and Mars Meet Venus can be found at our website... but I'll send some higher res ones through to you if you'd like. Let me know.
Mars Meet Venus is technically older than Zen as it played in tournaments as early as 2003.
Hot D is absent from your list of Co-ed teams. I believe 2004 was their only year... maybe 2003 or 2005 as well? Terry, Lane, Juan or one of the other people who played on that team can correct me if I'm wrong.
The first year of ROY, Danny asked a couple of us to gather those who were left into a team. It toured under the name 'Hello My Name Is' in 2004. But honestly, do you want any team of any level which has gone to a tournament and represented from 'Toronto'?
If so, I can give you the names of dozens of other teams that sometimes compete in tournaments and are listed as 'from Toronto' ranging from league teams like Monster, COOL and Release The Hounds... to a variety of 'group of friends' men's and women's teams who have gone to tourneys across Ontario and Quebec, to teams that went to Pagenello. Let's not forget teams like the Bad Larry's too
I guess it comes down to, how are you defining a touring team?
If you wants lists... you coud also probably ask one of the TUC board or Jason/Ian. Any team TUC has ever supported is probably documented in the financial records.
Old lists of teams may also available from people who have run tourneys. Mike likely has a list of teams somewhere from several years of running Solstice. The Evans' may have old lists from Gender Blender burried in their house. Failing that... an older pack-rat than me may have it as I occassionally stumble across old e-mails from the past 4 years from various tourneys listing teams attending.
(and here are the results from past Nat's... finalists only though... again... try asking John Harris if CUPA has lists of all attendees from the past. They likely do have it on file and that may help fill out some of the old ones as well.)

Eve 7th
Lily 8th
Zen 7th
Too Bad 9th
Roy 11th
Dirt 4th
2005
BMF 4th
Bohdi 6th
Lotus was 2nd
Eve 8th
GT 8th
Too Bad 10th
DIRT 3rd
2004
Dirt 4th
Bohdi 3rd
Rotterdam 16th
GOAT was actually 3rd
GT 8th
Too Bad 13th
ROY 14th
RUBY 6th
BOXX 12th
2003
Black Sheep 5th
Bohdi 7th
Ruby 5th

Hi everyone.
Too Bad's logo and a team history are on our website at www.toobad.ca
12 Canadian Nationals and 4 Club Worlds to date.
There is a picture on the home page of our Worlds team at Perth, Australia this past November with the Columbia team that we had just played. Scroll down that page and you will see our Worlds squad in Vancouver in 1997.
There are other pictures at Team Photos and at the links at the bottom of those pages. We have great alumni from over the years.
There is also a picture of the original B.A.D. team from 1994 with Lionel and everyone at the Big Aerial Dynamite link on the History page alongside the 1995 Nationals. http://www.toobad.ca/BAD.html
Looking ahead, the 2007 tournament schedules pages on the site have been updated. There are separate pages for each of the open, women's and mixed divisions. http://www.toobad.ca/tournaments.html
The 2007 dates are fairly certain. However, most tournament websites at the links still relate to last summer and will probably not be updated until the spring.
We look forward to being back on the field soon.

DIRT finished 4th at Nationals in both 2005 and 2006.

Logos for most of the 2006 teams are available on the various pages under the Touring menu. There may be a couple more hidden somewhere in the stacks of unused graphics from the old site that I haven't yet gone through. |

You are correct, Sheffler. For those of you who don't know, BAD was the pre-cursor to Too Bad and the impetus for Too Bad's name and included current TUC members such as myself, Harry Burkman, Frank Dionisi, Mike List, Geoff Simonett and Mike Turner - http://www.toobad.ca/toobadBAD.html. While most of us can't beat Coster and his ilk - Dave Lewis and Joe Aziz to name a few - in longevity (I think they all pre-date the pterodactyl), we more than make up for it by actually having the ability to play the game. |

I think some of this historical info is on the CUPA site. I can't recall when Harry and the Too bad crew started attending nats but it was every year thereafter. From my quick recollection:
- 1988 nats in Toronto - Toronto's Darkside - Canadian Open champions Jim Lim, Edgar Wedig and a host of other luminari
- 1989 nats in Calgary - can't recall team name "Zero Tolerance" perhaps? finished around 7th or 8th i believe amidst freezing temperatures in august
- 1990-92 can't recall where nats were montreal and Vancouver at least i think. Toronto Toronto might have been team name for some of those years. Just ask the starting line of Pee Wee and they should have the answers
- 1993 Ottawa - second Toronto team was Zero Tolerance
- 1994 Winnipeg (one of the best nats parties in my hazy recollection) Toronto team was Pam! i believe
- 1995 Calgary (camping inside the velodrome and yet another freakish cold weather pattern) - Pam again i think - knoocked out in quarters i think
- 1996 toronto nats - Pam and introduction of Beer Me! (Pam lost in finals to Furious and BM finished around 13th)
- 1997 Victoria - Pam again i believe - knocked out in the quarters i believe
- 1998 Montreal - Yes, Rebellion and Love Gravy
- 1999 Ottawa - same as above plus Hand Solo (first and last year of open club experiment)
The other years that you have listed are mostly correct I think Pete (at least for open) other than:
2000 - I don't think Hand Solo was at Vancouver nats
2003 (joystik finished 4th--lost in a consolation game to Calgary that no one felt like playing after our semi with Furious)
Damned if i know where any of the logos are |

2000 - Nine Inch Ales - Tied for third place - John Hurlbut should have the logo.
2001 - Nine Inch Ales - 16th
Way back ... Toronto Mens - Darkside - Think this was the last time Toronto Men won before GOAT, but someone else can confirm.
Mid 90s - Men - B.A.D. (Big Aerial Dynamite?) - think Mike List & Lionel Cole played on this team so they can confirm.
Also PAM! Think they finished 2nd to FG in 96.
98ish - Men - Rebellion - lasted 2/3 years - not sure of placings |

With the help of Ian and Monica I've been recapturing some of Toronto's touring history. I am looking for computer images of Logos for all these teams, if you have or know who might have them. Also, if we could fill in the blanks and even earlier it would be appreciated. (post here or send images to jamieson dot peter at gmail dot com).
