USA Ultimate and ESPN have signed a deal to air live broadcasts of Ultimate starting with the 2013 USAU College Championships, May 24-27.

Also covered will be the U.S. Open, the TCT Series and The USAU Nationals.

Although this sounds like a good thing for the sport overall and especially for those in the USA, it might mean less coverage for us to view, as typically, regional agreements don't allow us to view online US video content (legally).

If you miss the broadcasts, you will will be able to watch all the footage for FREE on-demand shortly after the event.

5) International scope?

The live broadcasts will be available in some countries, and as noted above, will be archived for on-demand viewing worldwide. International viewing options will be outlined in more detail at a later date.

No ESPN3 live broadcasts of the College Championships in Canada, bummer.

However UltiWorld is doing their own live streaming of all the key pool play games, pre-Quarters and Quarters on Sunday morning. http://ultiworld.com/

Watch for British Colombia Lady Thunderbirds, led by Traffic star, Canada World Games player, and a USAU College Callahan nominee Catherine Hui and captain Rene Kawabata as well as Ottawa Lady GGs coached by Capitals Kathryn Pohran.

The tournament is heating up big time with lots of drama, so check it out!

B2 Carlton, the #7 seed already upset their nemesis, B1 and #2 seed Wisconsin in Pool B action 14-10. In Pool A the number one seed of the tournament A1 Oregon just squeaked out a double game point win against A2 and #8 seed Colorado, 15-14.

Three of the top four seeded teams, #1 Oregon, #3 North Carolina and #4 Pittsburg made Quarters, though North Carolina did loose a pool play game to Central Florida and had to win a pre-quarters game to make the final eight. The #2 seed and host team, Wisconsin unfortunately disappointed their home town fans being upset by California Davis, 15-11 in pre-Quarters.

Womens
#7 B.C. won their first game against the always dangerous Santa Barbara Burning Skirts 15-11, but lost a close second game to the #2 seed, B1 Carlton 13-15, while the last seeded team #20 Ottawa has two tough losses against a powerful #4 Iowa 15-9 and an always strong Washington team, 15-10.

Both teams finished pool play Saturday with two more games. B.C. moved on to a pre-quarters game late Saturday, but after losing to #2 Carlton in pool play will have to go through #1 Oregon, who they are 1-3 against this year, to make semis on Sunday.

B.C. did win their pre-Quarter game 15-12 against the tournaments #3 seed Iowa State who didn't live up to their seed, also losing two pool play games. The Lady Thunderbirds now play #1 Oregon in Quarters early Sunday morning.

Same thing for the US Open this coming American long weekend.
We can watch all of Ultiworlds coverage of pool play, showcase, quarters and two semis, but the other semis and finals will only be available live on ESPN3.
