Greg, I've noticed that in the the last two weeks, the iCal feed isn't bringing in the Field # with the rest of the game info. Not sure if this has something to do with the fact that it's playoffs?
Cheers,
TJ

According to the iCal spec, the "location" is supposed to be a street address, which can be used to generate, for example, Google Maps links. Putting the field number in there really messes that up, so I'm trying it without at the moment. (It should still be available in the complete description.) Even putting the field name in causes some problems, it seems. (It works fairly well for Downsview, but results are poor for Lamport.)
From a "clickable" point of view, removing the field name and number is the best, then including the field name, then including both. From a "glanceable" point of view, unfortunately, the opposite is true. Comments on which is most important to you (all of you, not just TJ...) are welcome here.
Or, if someone can come up with a Google Maps search term that includes the field name and number but also takes you straight to the field, that might solve both. I've tried a bunch of things, but haven't found one that works yet.

Thanks for trying to sort this out.
In response to your comment that the field number should be available in the complete description part... that's not appearing on HappyTC. e.g. Here is what I see for the complete description:
LOCATION:
http://tuc.org/Zuluru/fields/view/field:191
Zuluru: Game sync'd with iCalendar sched on 2011/01/15 03:04:58 GMT-0600.
...for the record, before sync it WAS: 2011-01-18 / / Schedule not yet posted / TBA

OK I see what you mean by it being clickable from that URL and not "at a glance". Hope you can sort it out so that it works like it did before so that we don't have to click!

I've found that using a location along the lines of:
65 Front Street West, Toronto, Ontario (Union station)
works for me. You have to give a complete address and then you can put whatever comment you want in the parenthesis. Google Maps uses the address to place the pin, and then the parenthetical remark becomes the label.

I've made a change to try this format. Sounds perfect. Expect it to take a day or two for various sources to sync with the new version.

Looks like the latest change has fixed it for Google Calendar. Comments from users of iCal, HappyTC or Thunderbird?

Works in HappyTC!
One minor thing, which I'm not sure if users will care about, is that you can't see the field info unless you hover your mouse over the game location info field in HappyTC. However, in the emails that get distributed from HappyTC, people will obviously see the full address and field without having to hover.
Hope that makes sense!
Thanks Greg!

Hi TJ,
This was actually addressed in the late-May update to HappyTC. The field name now shows first (since "Sunnybrook" is more recognizable than "1116 Leslie St."), but the address is still present if needed (e.g. to use in Google Maps).
The location is now clickable in HappyTC, taking you directly to the map page.
Thanks for the pointer.
