Fields Fund Update - MPS Loans Repaid

Toronto, December 10, 2014 – On behalf of the TUC Board of Directors, we would like to notify the membership with a financial update regarding the Club’s partnership at Monarch Park Stadium (MPS). Read further for more details.

As many are aware, in July 2012 the TUC entered into a field development partnership with Razor Management Inc. (RMI) to transform Monarch Park Collegiate Institute into a premier sporting facility and the new home of TUC Ultimate.  The details of that original partnership can be found here.

Winter League Registration Now Open

Registration for Winter Leagues is OPEN! Spots are first-come first-serve including online registration AND payment. All prices include HST. To view all our adult Winter League offerings, please visit our Winter Leagues page. Some leagues have filled to capacity; if you are interested in a sold out league, please add yourself to the wait list by registering for that specific league. If you are under 18 years of age you can participate in our Winter Junior Leagues, information will be posted shortly!


Volunteer Appreciation Tournament - by invite only

The Volunteer Appreciation Tournament was an invite only event recognizing the hard work of our many volunteers in 2014. It was hosted on November 22nd at Monarch Park. The seasoned team was able to hold on to their crown in 2014 by defeating the fresh team by a total score of 195 to 177. Thanks again to all of our volunteers in 2014!

Junior Fall Leagues for Teens and Youths - Registration is Open

SUNDAY YOUTH FALL LEAGUE INFO

The TUC Youth Fall League is for kids 8-13 years of age. This program is aimed at providing a fun atmosphere for younger players to learn and develop the skills necessaay to play Ultimate, with the ephasis on FUN.

This year we will be running one location for our Youth Fall League at Monarch Park CI on Sunday afternoons from November 9, 2014 to December 21, 2014 (7 weeks) from 2pm to 3:55pm.

Dates: November 9th to December 21st
Times: 2:00pm - 3:550pm (7 weeks)
Format: Co-ed clinic league, with emphasis on FUNdamentals.

TUC Games on Rogers TV Again this weekend - Including Other Cities!

TUC games on Rogers TV will air once again this Sunday, September 28! On Toronto/Scarborough local channels 10 & 63, Sunday, September 28, Rogers TV will feature the All-Star Challenge Competitive Final at 6:30pm. Be sure to watch and/or PVR and tell your family and friends to do the same! If you missed it the first time, this is your chance - or watch it again!

In Markham, Richmond Hill and Vaughan, Rogers TV will be airing the Monday League Competitive Championship Final on Friday, September 26 at 9:00pm, and the All-Star Challenge Competitive Final on Saturday, September 27 at 9:00pm. Spread the word!

On Toronto/Scarborough local channels 10 & 63, Sunday, September 21, Rogers TV will feature the Monday League Competitive Championship Final at 8:00pm and the All-Star Challenge Competitive Final at 9:30pm. Be sure to watch and/or PVR and tell your family and friends to do the same! We need as many viewers as possible!

Possible air times for other areas in the GTA (ie. Mississauga, Richmond Hill, Pickering, Oshawa, etc) will be posted as they become available. Spread the word!


Hall of Fame Class of 2014 Announced - Ceremony Oct 25

TUC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and TUC Summer End Celebration

Date: Saturday, October 25, 2014
Time: 7:00pm - 1:00am
Location: Whistler's Grille, 995 Broadview Avenue, Toronto. Whistler's is located on the corner of Broadview and Pottery Road/Mortimer.
Transit/Parking: Whistler's is a 5-10 minute north from Broadview Station. There are limited parking spots available in the parking lot adjacent to the venue. Street parking is available on the surrounding streets and in the grocery store parking lot that is a half-block north.

Doors open at 7pm with the Hall of Fame Ceremony beginning at 8:00pm, followed by TUC Volunteer Awards & Summer-End Awards. Dress code is 'ultimate formal'. Appetizers will be served early and there is a cash bar. Please note that this is a 19+ event.

MPS Dome Set-Up Volunteers Still Needed for Oct 17

Monarch Park Stadium - Dome Set-up Volunteers Required

TUC is seeking volunteers for Thursday, October 16 and Friday, October 17, from 8:00am – 5:00pm each day to assist with the Monarch Park Stadium Dome set-up! Volunteers are required for either a 5-hour shift (8am – 1pm or 1pm – 5pm) or a 9-hour shift. No technical skills required, just basic labour of rolling out the dome walls and assembling the small plates that hold the walls together. Volunteers are required to dress appropriately for the weather and for general labour. There will be lunch provided (pizza and drinks) for those who volunteer for the full day (9 hour shift). The Club requires 35 volunteers during each shift so we need lots of volunteers!

Special Meeting of the TUC Membership - Sept 23 at Monarch Park Stadium

Here is the agenda. The agenda for the special meeting is to approve 2 sets of financial statements, as these were not available for approval at the 2014 Annual General Meeting. See the 2014 AGM Minutes and 2014 Finance Report for further details. The meeting will also include a forum discussion on our Pick It Up! initiative that took place during Week 3 of the TUC summer season. This is your opportunity to share your feedback on the initiative and provide suggestions on how it can improve!

Fall Indoor League - Registration to open on Thursday

Fall Indoor 2014 Registration will be opening on Wednesday, August 20th at noon. The information for the upcoming season will be posted on Monday.

For now, you can still check out the Fall 2013 Indoor league information. We expect to have a similar menu this Fall, with something new for Sundays.

2014 Fall OUTDOOR Information

The Leagues listed below are ADULT Fall Leagues and are intended for Adult (18+) participants only. Junior members are encouraged to participate in our Junior Fall Outdoor Leagues; information on these leagues will be posted shortly.

In order to participate in Fall Leagues you must have a valid TUC membership. All TUC adult memberships that began September 1 of last year (2013) are not valid for the upcoming Fall season. For more information on TUC memberships, please visit the Club Membership Information page.

Please note that if the team you register is not appropriate for the league (ie. a competitive level team in a Rec League), TUC reserves the right to offer your space to a team of the appropriate skill level.

After the fantastic weekend we had in May, Clevelands House have invited us back to end our Summer over the Labour Day long weekend with another Lake Rosseau tournament! We are thrilled to be back and hope to grow the tournament bigger and better than the original and amazing first weekend. 2014 Five Week Clinic Series - Round 2

Round 2 of the clinic series will run from July 21st to August 25th (no session on August 4th for Civic Day), signup is currently open.

King and Queen Format Explained

The tournament consists of multiple games where new hat teams are randomly created before the start of each game. Each player is given points based on the team result from each game they played in (win: 3, draw: 2, lose: 1). The male and female with the most points are crowned the King and Queen of the tournament, while the male and female with the least points are appointed as the Court Jesters.

There will be some one of a kind individualized prizes for the two tournament winners and plenty more goodies up for grabs! Make sure you register to get your shot!
