Hat Tournament – Saturday, August 18th

The next great TUC tourney is just around the corner. On Saturday, August 18th, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., we will be hosting a Hat Tournament at Riverdale Park East. Registration is now open for both TUC and non-TUC players. This tournament is FREE for all TUC members and only $15 for non-TUC players. The registration deadline is Thursday, August 16th so get signed up before it’s too late!

Playoff Registration

Playoff registration opens August 20 and is open to all TUC Summer League teams (and it's free!). All playoff games will take place at beautiful Sunnybrook Park. The playoffs for Monday and Tuesday Leagues will take place on September 8-9 (all day both days) and the playoffs for Wednesday and Thursday Leagues will take place on September 15-16 (all day both days). Registration for Monday/Tuesday teams ends September 3 and registration for Wednesday/Thursday teams closes September 10. A reminder to teams that if you wish to participate in the playoffs, have a full roster (minimum 6 games on the weekend)! If you cannot field a proper team or do not wish to participate, then simply do not register your team.

Any person who is not a ‘regular player’ on their team roster may not be permitted to participate in the playoffs. This rule will be enforced to the top 16 seed teams in each league (please note this applies to the top 16 seeds PARTICIPATING in the playoffs. Therefore if you finish 18th overall in your league, and two top-16 teams choose not to participate in playoffs, that makes your team a top-16 playoff seeded team!) Lower seeded teams will be allowed to pickup TUC member subs or merge with other TUC teams, but this must be declared to TUC.

Furthermore, all regular players must play a minimum of 5 games with your team in order to be eligible to participate with your team in the playoffs. These 5 games must be completed by the end of the regular season.

The TUC Team

For July is Mark Gravely!

July's volunteer of the month is Mark Gravely. Mark contributed several hours outside of his touring schedule to coach at two different high schools. Coaching in high schools is an excellent way to promote the sport to the next generation of Ultimate players.

Thanks Mark, we appreciate your efforts!

The 2007 Volunteer of the Month awards are brought to you by Scallywags Bar & Restaurant. Each Volunteer of the Month receives $50 Scally's Dollars that can be used towards any purchase at Scallywags!

Tournament Results

The weather was beautiful at Sunnybrook Park for this year’s Mid-Season Tournament. There were some memorable team outfits to go along with the spirited and competitive Ultimate played over the course of the weekend. Flick This won the Mid-Season Spirit Award and champions were crowned in three tiers of playoffs. Big Hammers beat Tony & Carmel 8-6 to win the Tier A title. Superheroes in Training came out on top in Tier B and Tomatoes by You won Tier C.

Thanks to all of our amazing volunteers and participants for making the weekend a successful and fun tournament! Photos of the event, courtesy of, are available here. And a special thanks to our sponsors GAIA, Xilarate, Tetley, Motrin, Daredevil and Amcare.
