Welcome New TUC Members!

We’d like to welcome all new Fall members that we missed in the last LAYOUT issue as well as those who will be participating in our upcoming Winter Leagues. We’re glad to have you as a part of Toronto’s ‘original’ Ultimate Frisbee Club and we hope you enjoy the Ultimate season!

Winter League Is Almost Full So Don’t Delay!

Winter is almost here and now is the time to sign up! TUC has the Varsity Centre, BMO Field, and the Downsview Hangar for its indoor leagues in Winter 2008. We have options for 4 nights of the week, from recreational to highly competitive Ultimate and you can sign up a team or as an individual. All leagues are 6-on-6 on large sized, quality indoor fields, all of which are TTC and highway accessible. This is the perfect opportunity to get active this Winter and improve your game for next summer season!

Please note that leagues with multiple locations (Mondays & Thursdays) are not separate leagues (although they have separate divisions). You will play games at both venues, as roughly indicated by the ratios.

William Ho

Congratulations to William Ho, the TUC Volunteer of the Year! Throughout the summer, William was a staple volunteer at all of our big events including the Summer Experience, the Mid Season Tourney, and the Summer Playoffs. He was always present at the crack at the dawn, ready to setup tents and fields, and he stayed through to the end to help with takedown. Whatever was required, Will was there to save the day! TUC thanks William and all its volunteers for another outstanding year.

The 2007 Volunteer of the Year received gifts from our friends at GAIA, Hilton Hotels, and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.

Thanks,

William

Thanks to all of our members who have volunteered their submissions and contributions for the Pie Plate. The PL8, TUC’s annual souvenir magazine, will be going to print over the holidays and we hope to have it available in January. A limited number of hard copies will be made available at the TUC office and TUC events and we will post the Pie Plate online for everyone to read. If you’d like to have a look at last year’s Pie Plate click this link.

The League will now start Sunday, January 6 and conclude Sunday, April 6 (14 weeks). Game times are 6:30pm and 7:30pm, instead of 5:30pm and 6:30pm that we advertised in November. Enjoy the season!
