Happy New Year from the Staff at TUC

We are pleased to announce that both Jason Robinson, General Manager, and Ian Brooks, Member Services Coordinator, are returning for another great season with TUC. Our staff is here to serve you, the TUC member, so don’t hesitate to contact us if you need anything!

Catch the Spirit! – 4th Annual High School Indoor Tournament

The Toronto Ultimate Club is hosting its 4th annual “Catch the Spirit” tournament for high school teams on Wednesday February 27 & Friday February 29, 2008. Last year we reached maximum capacity before a gnarly winter storm prevented many teams from attending. This year we’re going for the most teams yet!

The tournament has two divisions – the ‘B’ division (beginner teams) will play only on Wednesday February 27 and is limited to 16 teams. The ‘A’ division (intermediate/experienced teams) will play only on Friday February 29 and is limited to 16 teams. Registration will open on January 25 and close on February 22. Spots go on a first-come first-serve basis.

TUC is putting out a call to anyone who would like to volunteer for this great event. As well, if you know of any schools who may be interested, please let them know about “Catch the Spirit!” by sending this LAYOUT or referring them to the CTS section on our website.

For more information contact juniors@tuc.org.

*NEW* Toronto Juniors Indoor League

TUC is pleased to announce a new Indoor League specifically for Junior-aged players. The new TJIL is recommended for players aged 15-18 years old and will be a co-ed, speedpoint 6-on-6 league similar to that of our adult indoor leagues. No clinics, no warm-ups, just games! TJIL will take place at the Downsview Hangar on Thursdays from March 6 – April 3. Games start at 7pm. Cost is $50 per player and it includes your TUC 2008 Junior Membership!

Pass this poster along to any juniors who play Ultimate! For more information visit the TJIL page on our website, or contact tjil@tuc.org.

Last Minute BMO Winter League Registration, Fall Leagues Wrapping Up

We still need a few more women (Monday Co-Ed Hat Team – intermediate) and a few more men (Tuesday Men’s League Hat Team) to fill up our BMO Winter Leagues. Only a few spots remain so this is your last chance to play Ultimate at BMO this winter if you haven’t yet signed up. Leagues start February 11 and 12. Cost is $145 per person for the 10 week season, all games at BMO Field. This Winter will be our biggest indoor season yet, you don’t want to miss out!

Register now!

BMO Fall Leagues are in the final 3 weeks of play. Monday and Tuesday Co-Ed playoffs start this coming week (Jan. 21-22) and the Men’s League playoffs start January 29. Good luck to all teams and remember to play with Spirit!
