Layout September 2004, Volume 1

Greetings

Let me first start off by apologizing to you, our members, for the the most recent LAYOUT communication which was sent out hastily last week - just prior to the playoff weekend. As Tournament Director, I was managing a sensitive issue arising from the need to accommodate many last minute team entries. In that another Sunnybrook user group (XTSC) was holding partial permits for some of the fields we required, we offered to purchase some of their time allotments. However, their ultimatum was for TUC to send an offer to our membership (within a limited timeline) to promote what was characterized as non-ultimate related offer. Further, we were disappointed to see that XTSC had shamefully attached their flyers to cars parked throughout Sunnybrook Park. Clearly, we did not manage this aspect well. Please disregard that offer.
I do also want to thank those members who have taken the time to express volumes of positive feedback regarding the two past weekends of Club Playoffs at Sunnybrook.

September 11 & 12th playoffs for Monday and Tuesday nights

Image A wonderful weekend was had by all at the fabulous Sunnybrook Park playing fields. The weather was hot and dry and that made for some sizzling Ultimate. Again congratulations to MANDREW victors over Red Hot Choad for the Monday night crown and also to DURT who pulled off the win against Spinning Mules to capture the Tuesday night title.

Playoff weekend #2 on September 18th & 19th

Image Well we couldn't have asked for a better weekend, not as hot as the previous but at least sunny and dry and that made for another incredible weekend at Sunnybrook Park. This time though new victors for Wednesday night. Pee Wee pulled off a close one against defending champs IMOD and Terry Funk won over Pokai for the Thursday title.

By the way that puts me at 4 and 0, re: incredible tournaments at Sunnybrook Park. The World's in 1991, this years Mid-Season and both playoffs, I'm on a streak now!
