Mississauga Ulti...

Hi all,

Can anyone give me the low-down on the Ulti scene in Mississauga?

My wife and I are moving out to Port Credit from Edmonton in late August. We've played rec Ulti out west for a couple of years now, and we're looking into playing in Mississauga (looks like TUC has lots of really great leagues year-round, but we'd prefer not to drive all over the GTA)

I've been on the MRSC site at http://www.mrsc.ca/sports-ultimate.php
but the info there seems to be all about the '08 Spring league, which isn't really helpful to me. Is this the only league in Mississauga? What's the level of play? I've heard there's a lot of 5-on-5 sub on the fly leagues out here - is that the norm, or is it usually 7-on-7 sub after each point?

Thanks!

Cam

Not sure about 'Sauga, but I know there's a league in Milton, which may be close depending on what part of 'Sauga you're in. I would think it would be closer to drive to TUC games, but I thought I would mention anyway.

I play in the Mississauga league (MRSC) and although the caliber of play is more recreational, I really enjoy that it is local and don't have to get stuck in traffic. Plus I get to play with my whole family!

The MRSC is a decent size with 12 teams tues nights, and the about the same on other nights.

The website has actually moved to http://www.mrsclive.com/s_ultimate.php

Hope to see you on the west end fields soon.

Danny Jose.

My boyfriend and I live in Port Credit. We play league in Brampton - http://www.bramptonultimateclub.com/ - it's standard 7 on 7 play at a rugby club just off the highway. The caliber is high enough, although being allowed to carry pitchers of beer to the sideline tends to bring it down a notch. When are you moving?
