While we're looking back, can I request a "most total career trades" break-down? Who reigns supreme as the ultimate TPL town bicycle?

Just curious how high Joel jumped. I think he was a last round pick in his first season.

The big TPL stats machine isn't here to just churn out stats at people's request. We have a proper ticketing system in which you can submit your requests and we will attempt to resolve these tickets in a timely fashion.

Top 3 players traded are

Hin Tang 13
Greg Sheldrake 11
Crystal Sotelo 11

Matty "Backaids" Coombe was picked ahead of me? Seriously? I am surprised he was picked at all.

Watch out whatever team picked him...that shits contagious (just ask Price).

Is this why you asked Will? To fire sh%t up.

note there are more players that have PLAYED every season (Jchan, Greg Sheldrake to name a few off the top of my head), but the previous post was just around people who have been in the draft every year. people who were picked up as a free agent or as people dropped out are not on this list

Is Marcy going to be too busy as a GM to be the bookie?? I've been looking forward to seeing his new odds layout, one in which gamblers aren't able to somehow turn 100 Imperial Coins into 10,000,000 like Norm, Dee and Denton last season.

Here are some season long odds, maybe worth a TPL disc? (not that I have that clearance!) 10 coins/category

Most Male Goals:
Gareth 1.5x
Bracht 2x
Curtis 2.25x
Cam 2.5x
Any other 4x

Most Female Goals:
Janssen 1.5x
Dee 1.75x
Dahlke 2.25x
Jar 2.75x
Any other 4x

Most Male Assists:
Huynhsanity 1.25x (should he be off the board after last season?)
Norm 2.25x
Hugh 2.5x
Kirk 2.75x
Any other 4x

Most Female Assists:
Dee 1.75x
Sheri 2.25x
Kirsten 2.5x
Emma 2.75x
Any other 3x

Most Wins (all 2x):
Loat
Julian
JChan
Indoor Ron
Milne

For those who have been spending too much time watching NFL football instead of working out in preparation for TPL:

BTW, that player, Lawrence Timmons, gets a sack a short while later. And Pittsburgh won the game. Just like TPL, it's not how you start, it's how you finish.

Nickname Guide for TPL v5.0

Postby Wartank » Wed Oct 22, 2014 9:20 am

As the new season of TPL dawns, people have been looking forward to the draft, to the season’s theme, to the new betting format -- there’s just so much to see and do and enjoy. But at the heart of it all is the BBS, and at the heart of the BBS posts are the nicknames. Awesomely, some of the TPL nicknames born of frivolity and random brain firings have actually caught on and made a cozy little home for themselves in our collective consciousness. Everyone knows who you mean when you speak of the Diva, or the Golden Paycheque, Market, Jankyard Dog, Ty Fighter, Hot King, TipsDee, the list goes on and on.

So this year in advance of a whole new slate of nicknames, I present to you a Guide to Generating Season V Superhero Nicknames.

The Low-Hanging Fruit. These are the ones that practically write themselves. Example: Jeff “Man of” Steele. No modifications necessary, good punch, easily recognizable. It’s a gimme based on the theme, but it fits so well that he’s sure to have heard it before. But what *was* an awkward self-nickname about the superhero spoiled with every power is now a welcome gift basket for this TPL rookie.

The Pop Culture Smash. These nicknames are the ones inspired by recent pop culture, and with Superheroes hitting the silver screen like an Adam West haymaker, KAPOW! we might just see some stars. Some will be clever, and some will be reaches; the difference is what will cause the nicknames to be flash in the pan, or a franchise.

Chris Faulkner > Faulkeye. Chris is the beneficiary of a name that works great phonetically, but struggles visually. We’ll hope that the popularity of the Avengers can bump this nickname up from the dusty storeroom to the window display.

Shawn Huynh > The Huynhter Soldier. This plays directly off of people’s new ability to understand how to pronounce “Huynh”; sadly, it attempts to overshadow what is surely a TPL household nickname in “Huynhsanity”. Although attempting to one-up an entrenched nickname is likely a waste of time, sometimes we reach for the stars even if it means we’ll suffocate in space because there’s no oxygen there, stupid.

The Obscure. Here we delve deep into geekdom and try to retrieve some references that the majority of folks just won’t get. Jon Brandt successfully adopted the Jon Snow monicker in season 3, now maybe he can get some traction as J’on J’onzz. Of course if your blank stare is any indication, chances are this nickname doesn’t last until the end of this post. Honourable mention: Mark Taylor > Tayzerbeam.

The Frankensteins. These are the nicknames that are convoluted and messy, but have the charm of a toddler's finger painting. Here’s one: Megan Tran > The Megreen Trantern. It’s a mouthful, it’s silly, but damn it, it’s beautiful, and it just might work. The irony of giving a superhero whose only vulnerability is yellow to an Asian is not lost on me. I’m also Asian - I get lost on the road, not on the BBS.

The Non-Thematic. In a burst of creativity Twitter is the absolute worst at technologically facilitating, Adam Clay was given a host of nicknames, among which was “The Clayboy Bunny”. Instant cache, memorable, snappy. When inspiration hits, you can safely set aside the confines of the season’s themes; afterall, the inaugural season did just fine and nicknames were themeless. Now, they can be clothes-less too.

After months of plotting, scheming and conniving, the evil genius Lex Loather had successfully taken control of the TPL. And as everyone knows: he (or she) who controls the TPL, controls the world.

However, the guardians of the TUC Parity League, the Sacred Conveners, resisted, fighting back in an epic battle, and eventually regained control of their league. After the battle, they managed to capture Loather as he vainly tried to escape their clutches.

But what to do with Lex Loather? Unwilling to break their one rule, the Sacred Conveners banished Loather to the bowels of Monarkham Asylum, where he now stews in his cell...longing to be freed from the wait list to wreak havoc and once again take over the TPL...

My Murl picks:
Most G's (M): SuperGareth
Most G's (F): SuperJanssen
Most A's (M): SuperNorm
Most A's (F): SuperDee
Most W's: SuperJChan
