No beer tent for spectators
This isn't really a rant, just though someone should post something to let people know that if they had thought they would like to go and watch Nationals and have a beer, they can't do both at the same time. Contrary to what was previously posted, the beer garden is not open to the spectators. Something about the type of liquor license...

Yes. Sorry Melanie and thanks for your understanding. We've had some challenges with the Liquor and Gaming Commission. We appologize profusely for our militancy on this, but we need to play by their rules or risk losing the garden entirely.
Every Nationals has its hitches... this has been ours.
Sunday finals will also have a beer garden at Varsity but will be open to all in the stadium (of age
).
Regards

Yes, I'm not disappointed that we would play by their rules. I just think that the rules should always be clearly posted so that nobody is surprised or disappointed... especially when there has been a change in plans/rules.
I wouldn’t want people who had made their plans earlier in the week to show up with a Saturday afternoon beer in mind, and have it not available. Especially when there is a beer tent present (but not open to everyone). In addition, a sign posted by the beer tent might be a good idea, saves having the same discussion with disappointed spectators over and over again at the door of the beer tent… just a thought.
