TPL Season XIV: Seinfeld

Postby MaxPower » Wed Feb 06, 2019 7:02 pm

[Setting: Monarch Park Peanut Gallery]

(BC and Loat are sitting beside each other on a bench)

LOAT: So the rookie was throwing a bunch of hammers?

BC: Every possession at stall 5. The hammers were gorgeous… then I got a look at the receiver laying out… (Laughs, then snorts) I was going nuts.

LOAT: Oh, man. Well, I guess you'll be asking to stay on that team…

BC: (Fake sympathy) Well, Lori, Loat…

(Loat nods)

LOAT: But are you still master of your domain?

BC: (Arms out) I am king of the county. You?

LOAT: Lord of the manor.

(Agatha enters and sits next to Loat)

AGATHA: Remi…Ojo…Jun-ya!

LOAT: What?

AGATHA: (Smiling) He was at my climbing gym.

LOAT: Really? Did you talk to him?

AGATHA: No, you don't understand - he was bouldering right in front of me. So, listen, after the session was over, I timed my walk to the door so we'd get there at the exact same moment, and he says to me, (Thinking the world of what he said) "Quite a circuit."

BC: "Quite a circuit"? What did you say?

AGATHA: (Smiling, proud) I said, "yeah."

LOAT: (Adding, fake praise) Good one.

AGATHA: So then, listen, listen. So then, I showered and I dressed, and I saw him again, on the way out. (Giddy and nearly out of breath) So we're walkin' and talkin', and he asked me my name - and I think I said Agatha - but, I mean, who the hell knows. And so then, he says to me: "Do you wanna split an Uber uptown?" And I said, "Sure" - even though I was going downtown. So, we get in the Uber, and I mean, I have no idea where I'm goin', right? But this is Remi Ojo Junior we're talkin' about! (Deep breath) So, then, he says to me, "Where do you live?" And I - and I - and I was close to Morgan’s, so I said that corner. So he dropped me off in front, (Laughs) and I had to take another Uber all the way back downtown to my place. (Picks up her water bottle and presses it up to her forehead to cool her off) Oh, God…

LOAT: But the question is, are you still master of your domain?

AGATHA: (Sets the water bottle down) I'm queen of the castle. (Pops one of Fell’s cookies into her mouth)

[End scene]

We'll miss you this season Remi.
I got my name off a hair dryer.

For those of you not on the Stat-keeper emails - shame on you, you should be stat-keeping! - you missed out on Matt Murl's (welcome back Matt!) observations on Week 1.

Loat and Norm led the league with 8A, Loat’s career high is 10 (twice, but he lost so many seasons to “Loating it” that it’s hard to take his stats seriously), Norm’s is 13 and he is never "Loating it".

Gareth with 7A, high but not high enough, he has 3 x 8 and 3 x 9. On the flip side it was closer to unique that he only had 1 G. He has one scoreless and 3 x 1 G games.

Gosbee with 6A, 1A off of a career high, which was set only a few weeks ago (not sure if that was a meaningful game or not at the end of last season)

No lady had more than 2A, so not much to dig into there. I think that the highest lady in career A/game playing this season is Nat Wong (3.88 - 14th overall) and well, just because I know she's a good sport, she did have a career low game.

Hooper’s 8G, close to career high of 10G (twice, 1 x 9), be wary of asking Denton to sub for your team if you have someone like Hooper to throw to.

Mercer was second with 6G which was surprisingly tied for his 2nd best, he has 1 8G game.

Dong-Ling Chen led the ladies with 5G, she has had 6G 3 times and looks to be quite the scoring sniper at nearly 7G per A.

Jessie Tsang had the top lady salary at 39K in a great debut performance and living up to her near top of the draft status.

Kaity Williams led in Ds with 4, she had never had more than 2 before.

Keegan Lee-Newbury led with 4D for the guys, he has had 5 Ds before.

Most surprising nugget of the week – while checking on Steele’s 6A, I saw that he has a 12A and 11A game. It was hard to get it exact but when checking the video replays, the total yardage on those 12 assists added up to 9 feet, 6 inches.

Loat that was some solid screenwriting!

Here are the random ramblings on the WEEK 2 STATS:

Team Based stats:

Big San Wants a Clairezone – 7G, new record low, 8G twice before
J. Peterman & Shoozie’s Parity Night of Passion - +20 Point diff, new record high, previously 19 by the mighty House of Baerdayetheon (S3)

Longest scoring streak (# of consecutive possessions) – 5 (ties season high) – Jake’s Festivus, J.Peterman, Van der Weerden & Bennything wrong

Longest scoreless streaks (# of consecutive possessions)
Big San – 15 (season high)
Christanza – 14
Wan Hands – 9
Parity Now – 8
Kramer, Bennything, Pretzels, Schwoop – 5
Ahluway, Festivus, van der Weerden – 4
J. Peterman – 2 (!!, will be tough to beat)

Longest possession ending in a goal
J. Peterman – 24 passes (season high)

Longest possession ending in a turnover
J. Peterman – 14 passes (season high)

Team with the shortest possessions
Schwoop – longest of 8 for a goal and 7 for a turnover

Individual stats:

There are now 2 remaining legends of the game that have played every season – Slater & Ty. Hin unfortunately had his streak end in the lottery but maybe he’ll get in as a replacement sometime this season. He was still there on Wednesday!

Quite a few new highs on the salary front, led by a strong rookie contingent:
Alex Smith 52.5K (rookie)
Jeff Luckett 48K (was 39K)
Jessie Tsang 44K (rookie)
Matthew Colphon 44K (was 14.5K)
Alex Boross-Harmer 43K (rookie)
Laura Stanley 36.5K (was 29K)
Miranda Ko 29K (rookie)
Olivia Chung 28K (was 19K)
Melbourne Ma 27.5K (rookie)
Barbara Huang 27K (was 16.5K)
Alexa Skinner 26K (was 16K)

Notable performances:
Jake and Norm with some old school 73.5K performances. That is Jake’s 2nd highest (83.5K) but doesn’t crack Norm’s top 10, he is a rare holder of a century salary game.

Laura Stanley led the ladies with 4G, a new high for her (twice with 3G)

Jessie Tsang led the ladies with 6A, which is actually tied for 9th all-time. The record is Destin with 9A.

The Greatness of Mr. Denton!

Some players get stats, other players get wins. It is no secret that Denton and Loat continually compete in championship games. Denton has played 11 of the 13 available TPL seasons and has an impressive win % of 66.14% (Loat has a win % of 53.45%).

Here are the top 5 players win %s with at least 50 games played
Denton (11 seasons played) 66.14%
Kenny Ye (5 seasons played) 66.07%
Julian Weinrib (12 seasons played) 65.2%
Marcel Frennette-Corniellis (7 seasons palyed) 63.58%
Matt Murl (7 seasons played) 63.57%

But what is even more impressive about Denton's win% is his consistency. Of the group above, Denton is the only one to have never had a losing season (his worst was Season 4 when he only won 7 of 14 games).

Kenny, Marcel, Murl each have 1 losing season

Julian has 2 losing seasons (but also a perfect season).

Yes the 8 TAs were a career high as well but 8G!!!

There have been 168 8G+ games, 63 8 TA+ games.

The all time high of 11 TAs (done only once) was set by a current S14 player... and his name is not Norm or BC.

Stat ramblings for WEEK 4

Most impressive team stat of the week: At one point Ahluway scored on 16 of 19 possessions. That’s as many points as quite a few teams scored in entire games with more than double the possessions.

Least impressive team stat of the week: That was the 2nd lowest scoring week of all-time (17.25pts/team), trailing only S13w1 (17.16pts/team). S13 never got within 2pts/team of that record low again, so hopefully s14 can do the same.

Longest scoring streak (# of consecutive possessions) – 6 (ties season high) – Ahluway

Longest scoreless streaks (# of consecutive possessions)
Parity Now 15 (ties season high – Big San w2)
Christanza 11
Schwoop 9
Wan Hands 7
Bennything 7
Pretzels 6
Big San 6
Festivus 6
Kramer 5
van der Weerden 5
Ahluway 4
J. Peterman 3

Longest possession ending in a goal (season high 24 – J Peterman w2)
Kramer – 16 passes

Longest possession ending in a turnover
Big San – 14 passes (ties season high – J Peterman w2)

Team with the shortest possessions
Bennything – longest of 10 for a goal and 7 for a turnover (season low 12 total 7/5 – Bennything w3)
Parity Now – 120 passes (season low 111 – Bennything w3)

Slowest team
Kramer – 37 possessions (ties season low – Pretzels w3)

12 players remain winless (was 33 last week, Pretzel and Bennything with 1st wins)
2 players remain without a turnover – Emily as above and an injured Marianne Perko (1GP)
3 players remain without a TA – Emily Temple (4GP), Anita Benoit (2GP) & Marianne Perko – regrets to Alix Gould, Sandeep & Sarah MM for losing their streaks

Going into some more detail here:

If we count throwaways as a throw as well then the numbers are a bit different. This is based on my understanding that throways don't get recorded as a pass (m) or pass (f), while a receiver error does. With that accounted for, Faulkner and Ho come out on top at 190; Claire and Sandeep have 189; We (Ahluway) end up at 181.

So far the league average is 148.4 completions per game and 23.0 throwaways per game.

Sorry, you have had a 4D game, must have sorted on the D for drops by mistake.

Still awesome to tie an all-time record!

WEEK 5 Stat ramblings

Most impressive team stat of the week: Not much beats 5-0, right? And history says that J. Peterman will be in the championship finals. Harvey Denton started 5-0 in s5 (won championship), other 5 game win streaks include Flik-E-Mart s9 (ended in a finals loss), ChikMunks s8 (ended in a finals loss) and Homeroom CALculus s6 (ended in a championship).

Least impressive team stat of the week: Boys & Girls had 11 TAs on their first pass.

At the time I was convinced that Kramer’s 14-11 win over Big San would be the all-time lowest scoring game and winner. Apparently I have been away too long as it is a somewhat regular occurrence recently with Season 13 having a winner with only 14pts 3 times (had never happened before that) and setting the all-time low total of 24pts (Labatt Shoe 14-10 Huck-a-Beer).

Longest scoring streak (# of consecutive possessions, season high – 6 multiple times) – 5 Bennything & Pretzels

Longest scoreless streaks (# of consecutive possessions, season high 15 – Big San w2 / Parity Now w4)
Pretzels 11 (first 11 of the game, ouch)
Boys & Girls 10
Big San 9
Christanza 8
Wan Hands 6
Bennything 6
Kramer 6
J. Peterman 6
Festivus 5
Ahluway 4
Schwoop 4
Parity Now 3

Longest possession ending in a goal (season high 24 – J Peterman w2)
Ahluway & J. Peterman – 16 passes

Longest possession ending in a turnover (season high 14 – J Peterman w2, Big San w4)
Kramer – 13 passes

Team with the shortest possessions
Pretzels – longest of 9 for a goal and 6 for a turnover (season low 12 total 7/5 – Bennything w3)
Boys & Girls – 115 passes (season low 111 – Bennything w3)

Slowest team
Kramer – 33 possessions (new season low, was 37)

Fastest teams
Bennything – 50 possessions (season high 58 – Christanza/Bennything w4)
J. Peterman – 188 completed passes (season high 193 – Ahluway w3)

Individual Stats

Most impressive Individual Stat of the week: Who can we jinx this week? So far this highlight had Norm go from a streak of 10A games to a 2A game and Emily from a streak of 0 turns in 4 games to 4 turns in 1 game. So let’s move on to Tommy Gun Jennings’ well rounded season. Impressive stats so far: only 6 TAs on 129 passes, which is hard to verify as being the best (maybe Graham has access to that data?) but sure looks like it. He leads the league in A/TA at 3.67. Even harder to tell is how many catches he has but only 1 drop on 14 goals and countless cuts.

Most impressive Female Individual Stat of the week: Alex Boross-Harmer is currently averaging 33K/game which would sit just outside the top 5 all-time

New highs on the salary front (min 20K salary for the week):
Alex Smith 54K (rookie)
Rajiv Seneviratne 52.5K (was 51K, 106 games played)
Edmund Un 41K (rookie)
Kyra Healey 41K (rookie)
Ricky Truong 34.5K (rookie)
Melbourne Ma 33.5K (rookie)
Aaron Zucker 32.5K (rookie)
Megan Miceli 28K (was 20K)
Christopher Ciufo 21.5K (rookie)

Other new highs (min 4G or 4A or 3D):
Lin Hsu 5G (ties high)
Alix Gould 4G
Megan Miceli 4G
Max van der Weerd 4G

D Wong 6A
Aaron Zucker 5A

Marko Iskric 4D
Benjamin Goodman 4D (ties high)

Will Mercer 7TA

Julian Weinrib 2 RE (ties high)

Close calls:
D Wong 61K (3rd highest – high of 68.5K)
Janet Wan 38K (4th highest – high of 47.5K)
Agatha Hodsman 34.5K (3rd highest – high of 51K)
Kevin Rabichow 31.5K (2nd highest – high of 32.5K)
Debra Cohen 31K (3rd highest – high of 37K)
David So 29.5 (3rd highest – high of 46K)
Jane Logan 25K (3rd highest – high of 29K)
Hilda AhChong 21.5K (3rd highest – high of 30K)
Alice Feng 20K (3rd highest – high of 22K)

Side stats:
15 players remain undefeated, mostly on J. Peterman! (was 17 last week)
6 players remain winless (was 12 last week, shoutout to GMs Kishi and Janssen whose teams won their only games without them)
2 players remain without a TA – Anita Benoit (3GP) & Marianne Perko (1GP), regrets to Emily Temple for losing this streak
44 players remain without a drop – 13 players lost this streak, you know who you are….

Re: TPL Season XIV: Seinfeld

Postby rajiv » Thu Feb 28, 2019 4:29 pm

I thought I'd have a look at some of the total numbers that we have recorded in 20,036 of TPL games played this far. I also wanted to compare the frequency at which each type of stat (Goal/Assist/D/TA/Drop) has occured all time and for players this season.

Goals - 33,234
Assists - 32,996 (so 238 callahans?)
2nd Assists - 23,876 (2nd assists on only 72% of goals)
D - 17,741
TA - 32,072 (14,331 (TA minus D) times a handler threw a pass so terrible it didn't even require a defensive play to stop?) - I feel like 90% of my throwaways are like this :(
RE - 7,441

So if we add up all the stats together we get 147,360. Therefore the relative frequency that each type of stat occurs is:

Goals : 23%
Total Assits : 38%
D : 12%
TA : 22%
RE : 5%

Now looking at how some of the career stats were distributed for players with at least 10 games and over 100 total stats

Top Goal Percentage
Tiffany Huebel - 48%
Marianne Perko - 46%
Dong-Ling Chan - 46%
Alice Feng - 44%
Laura Archilla - 42%

Lowest Goal Percentage
Melissa Morlidge - 4%
John Hurlbut - 5%
Heidi Siu - 6%
Carter Chin - 7%
Chris Loat - 9%

Top Assist Percentage
Chris Loat - 60%
Heidi Siu - 53%
Peter Hawkings - 52%
Nat Wong - 52%
BC Roedde - 50%

Top D Percentage
Matt Murl - 24%
Rajiv Seneviratne - 23%
Nicole James - 22%
Ryan Nightingale - 21%
Jeff Luckett - 21%

Lowest TA Percentage
Matt Murl - 9%
Laura Archilla - 9%
Nicole James - 10%
Aaron Hooper - 10%
Marriane Perko - 10%

Lowest RE Percentage
Rajiv Seneviratne - 1%
Chris Loat - 2%
Matthew Denton - 2%
Norman Lew - 2%
John Hurlbut - 2%

I forgot that this did not include subs. So the difference between the goals and assists are not callahans.

I do have access to this...

About the the throwaways. There are currently 25 players who average 20 throws per game (passes + throaways). Tommy is #2 in completion % for those players (95.3%). The winner: Heidi Siu (95.7%)... but she's only playe one game so far.

Regarding drops I've looked at trying to quantify drop rate in the past. It's a bit tricky since we don't count catches in the stats app. Instead I use touches as proxy (touches = passes + throways + goals + drops). One thing I'll note is that this does somewhat benefit handlers who pick up the disc a lot. Those players essentially get a touch without the risk of a drop.

Anyways, I looked at players averaging at least 20 touches per game. 34 such players exist. Tommy's drop rate of 0.7% is pretty great... but there are nine players with no drops and at least 20 touches per game (Heidi, Misiu, Rajiv, Marianne, Agatha, BSL, Maxim Tomashevsky, Gosbee). Most impressive, Agatha has played 11 games so far, averages 22.8 touches per game and still doesn't have a drop.

For future seasons, is there a way we could get the GMs to enter #of passes into the overall stats? Not that it would count for more salary per se, but just so we could put stats into perspective. I mean, Player A and B might have both played 7 games, and may both have 10 throwaways, but Player A has made 35 passes and Player B has made 98 passes which speaks to completion % (like Graham is talking about).

Thanks for all this number crunching though, peoples! It's cool to see :)

I've had the same thought re enterring pass data and tracking it officially. Related, I've (internally) wondered if we should assign a small salary per completed pass or something of the sort to help put a premium on handlers and to encourage them getting to traded to handler deficient teams. Not sure it actually makes sense.

I like this idea - over the last few seasons of GMing I've found that relative to their contribution cutters tend to be over valued (presumably because they pick up a lot of goals and assists on relative few touches, meaning few chances for TAs) and handlers under valued (lots of throws means lots of chances for TAs). As a result teams that tend to do well are ones that initially draft and/or trade for solid handlers early in the season and hold on to them, and teams without those players get into a vortex of not being able to trade for the talent they need to balance the team.

By assigning some sort of cost to any throw that disparity might be addressed - I'd be interested to see it modeled out.

We could also address this by being far more liberal with the drop stat, which typically only gets used if the receiver has it bounce right out of their hands, and think of it more as a receiver error, where we let the thrower off the hook for a good pass that the receiver mis-read or otherwise err'ed in not catching. Lots to consider there.

To retreat from the numbers for a sec and back to the ridiculousness of the TPL, it's very hard to walk around today and not know if you've been assassinated by a Magic Loogie. Were you a target? Did your GM push you out of the way at the last second to save you?

These are things we need to know on this forum.

If that is the case I would LOVE to advocate for a third assist salary....so many great mid field handlers who are undervalued.
But yet again, that would imply a ton more work for stats ppl. Which btw I thank greatly.

This week's MDR (Masters of your Domain Rule) was the Assassin game.
Each GM picked a player to be assassinated by the magic loogie on the team the were playing against this week. In addition, they picked a player that is immune to the magic loogie from their team... A magic loogie block as you will. Any assassination by magic loogie (without an unsuccessful block) results in a forced trade of the assassinated player (to any team) after games this week. These are the results:

(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBz3PqA2Fmc for context)

LOAT: Hellooo JChan.
RAJIV: I hate Gareth Cawley - hate him.
JCHAN: I despise him.
AGATHA: Why?
JCHAN: Why? I'll tell you why...
RAJIV: Let me tell it…
JCHAN: No, you can't tell it…
RAJIV: You always tell it ..
JCHAN: All right, tell it.
RAJIV: Ya ya ya - just tell it
JCHAN: February 6, 2019.... Pretz - Heisies. We're enjoying a beautiful evening in the peanut gallery when a crucial Gareth receiver error opens the door to a five point Heisies run. Cost the Pretz the game.
RAJIV: Our day was ruined. There was a lot of people, you know, they were waiting by the parking lot figuring out where to go for beers. Now we're coming out the sliding doors ... JChan was in front of me. Gareth was coming towards us, as he passes JChan turns and says, "Nice game pretty boy." Gareth continued past us to his car.
JCHAN: Then, a second later, something happened that changed us in a very deep and profound way from that day forward.
AGATHA: What was it?
RAJIV: He spit on us.... and I screamed out, "I'm hit!"
JCHAN: Then I turned and the spit ricocheted off him and it hit me.
AGATHA: Wow! What a story.
LOAT: Unfortunately, the immutable laws of physics contradict the whole premise of your account. Allow me to reconstruct this if I may for Miss Hodsman as I've heard this story a number of times. JChan, Rajiv, if you'll indulge me. According to your story Gareth passes you and starts walking up the sidewalk then you say you were struck on the right temple. The spit then proceeds to ricochet off of Jarel, striking Pete Hawkings between the third and forth rib. The spit then came off the rib made a right turn hitting Dara Lo in the right wrist causing her to drop her Nox cap. The spit then splashed off the wrist, pauses… in mid air mind you - makes a left turn through Ron Siu and lands on Mel Morlidge’s left thigh. That is one magic loogie.
JCHAN: Well that's the way it happened.
LOAT: What happened to your head when you got hit?
RAJIV: Well…uh, well my head went back and to the left.
LOAT: Say that again.
RAJIV: Back and to the left.
LOAT: Back and to the left. Back and to the left.
AGATHA: So, what are you saying?
LOAT: I am saying that the spit could not have come from behind ... that there had to have been a second spitter behind the dumpsters in the parking lot. If the spitter was behind you as you claimed that would have caused your head to pitch forward.
AGATHA: So the spit could have only come from the front and to the right.
LOAT: But that is not what they would have you believe.
JCHAN: I'm leavin'. Loat’s a nut.
LOAT: The sad thing is we may never know the real truth.
[end scene]

In summation: Jason Chan, Rajiv Seneviratne, Mel Morlidge, Ron Siu, Dara Lo, Jarel Villarroya and Peter Hawkings are all getting traded this week.
I got my name off a hair dryer.

Some team results from wednesday:

Heidi-Kramer finished with the third most passes (completions + TAs) on the season to date (210). Claire -Sandeep (week 6: 234); Puja-Graham (week 3: 216).

Max set the season record for fewest total passes (125), and fewest completions (98). The previous lows were 131 and 111 (Ben, week 3).

This was the first week all season where no team had 50+% of passes completed to their women. The season high for completions to women is 56% (Chris-James, week 4). The overall season leader is Meghan-Ray (48.8%); Chris-James are just barely behind at 48.5%.

Weeks 6 to 8 random ramblings. Too much stuff to do the regular review and busy catching up but here are the stats that stuck out:

Week 8 was the closest to parity yet with a combined point diff of 17. The only game not within 3pts was last place (at the time) Pretzels winning by 6

Weeks 7 & 8 were the highest scoring weeks so the points are starting to flow again and in week 8 every team scored at least 17pts for the first time.

Team stats week 8:
Christanza with a 31 pass score to ice the game (new season long) – Rajiv and Norm accounted for 17 of these passes!
Festivus with only 1 drop (the convener with the drop shall remain nameless, well at least until the bottom of this post), I don’t think there has been a dropless game yet (Graham?).
Bennything 1 short pass away from scoring on their last 7 possessions to come back from 5 down and win by 1… instead some swill followed by an immediate buzzer beating huck by Sandeep to win for Big San

Team stats week 7:
Big san and Kramer both with a streak of 8 consecutive scores (new season high)
Boys & Girls only 98 completed passes (new season low)

Team stats week 6:
Festivus 117-51 M/F ratio but it was mainly the ladies fault who were a combined 46/6.
Big San 217 completed passes (new season high), almost double their opponent (Schwoop 120)

Player stats – new career bests (no ties or close calls this week):

Player Highs week 8:
Hayden Andrews 59K (was 57.5K)
Caitlind Lusty 33K (rookie)
Phil Isaac 33K (rookie)

Player Highs week 7:
Sandeep Kembhavi 58K (was 44K)
Kyra Healey 48K (rookie)
Anna Kazmierska 48K (was 43K)
Edmund Un 42.5K (rookie)
Heidi Siu 40.5K (was 32K) – 99th game played!!
Alex Gould 37.5K (was 34K)
Rebecca Chan 34.5K (was 33K) – 108th game played!!
Jane Logan 30K (was 29K)
Ryan Buensuceso 21K (rookie)

Player Highs week 6:
Keegan Lee-Newbury 71K (was 52.5K)
Patrick Meredith-Karam 58K (was 54.5K)
Janet Wan 50K (was 47.5K)
Evan Phillips 42.5K (rookie)
David St Bernard 34.5K (was 34K)
Catherine Pelletier 28K (was 25K)

Category new highs:
6G – Emily Temple (w8), Krya Healey (w7), Anna Kazmierska (w7)
5G – Chelsea Jackson (w6)
4G – Barabara Huang (w8), Edmund Un (w8), Melbourne Ma (w8)

10A – Gareth Cawley (w8 – dropping dimes last night)
7A – Patrick Meredith-Karam (w6)
6A – Evan Phillips (w6)
5A – Caitlind Lusty (w7)
4A – Allan Tong (w8), Janet Wan (w6)

5D – Sandeep Kembhavi (w7)
4D – Chris Ciufo (w6)

It can’t all be good news:
7TA – Irene Tse (w8) – Marko… I see your 7 but you’ve had 10 before.
6TA – Max van der Weerd (w7), Phil Isaac (w7), Alex Smith (w7)

5RE – Carolina Vargas (w6)
4RE – Meghan Janssen (w7)
3RE – Will Mercer (w6)

Side stats:
3 players remain undefeated – Debrah Cohen (4GP), Marianne Perko (3GP), Laura Wiese (2GP)
3 players remain winless, none with more than 3GP (congrats to Janssen who got off the schneid after 7 tries)
Ryan Buenesco leads the league at 1 TA in 6 GP
A remarkable 26 players remain without a drop, special shout out to these groups:
8GP no drop – Melboure Ma, Evan Phillips, Rajiv Seneviratne, Allan Tong, Lin Hsu, Graham Haines, Chis Faulkner, David Ip and Brittany Heath
7GP no drop – Agatha Hodsman (unfortunately 1 drop as a sub that costs the perfect no drop game!), Benjamin St. Louis, Maxim Tomashevsky, Tyler Longo and James Ho

Just had a look. There hasn't been a zero drop game yet. Chris and James did have a one drop game earlier this year in week 3.

Week 9 stat ramblings

Stat of the week - Festivus on the brink of an unprecedented 6-game win streak unfortunately could not deliver. Instead they had some other near history made by TPL OG BC (I can’t think of any other acronyms to add on to this) with a whopper of -26,500 salary. The 2nd lowest all time (the record holder shall remain nameless, it’s not another OG to pile on). 0-G 1-A 0-2A 0-D 9-TA, advanced stats show a higher completion percentage to the other team (53%) than his own. Just one of those nights as it comes on the heels of last week’s 8A performance. It’s still early but this could be a championship winning performance by BC putting the 1st place Festivus 140,000 under cap! Ugh.

Team stat of the week – J. Peterman, now a regular guest in this area, set the new record by scoring on 9 consecutive possessions! Fuego. Christanza had a streak of 7, Schwoop with 6.

Pretzels unleashed another balanced attack to extend their season long win streak to 2. Only 1 player had less than 7 completions (as did Boys and Girls, most teams with 4 some as high as 7) and only 1 player had more than 17 (every other team had 2 or more). The M/F ratio was a fitting 76/76

Individual stat highlights:

Norm Lew back at it with another 11A performance, his 2nd of the season. Of note was his incredible usage rate in this game, completing nearly 25% of the entire team’s passes and registering a stat on 61% of the team’s points. On the same night as a sub for Parity Now, he dropped to 17/20% and won both games.

Patrick Meredith-Karam 59K (was 58K) – 30 games played
Aaron Zucker 43K (rookie)
Jennifer Law 40.5K (was 36K) – 63 games played
Nathan Postma 37K (rookie)
Sarah Liu 25K (rookie)
Alysson Kate Cabrido 23K (rookie)

Ron Siu 8G (ties high)
Phil Isaac 6G (rookie)
Jennifer Law 5G (was 4)
Benjamin Goodman 5G (was 4)
Jeff Luckett 4G (ties high)

David So 6A (was 4)
Hayden Andrews 6A (ties high)
Maxim Tomashevsky 5A (ties high)
Nathan Postma 5A (rookie)
Sandeep Kembhavi 5A (was 3)

Jeff Luckett 4D (ties high)
Alexa Skinner 4D (was 2)
Caitlind Lusty 3D (rookie)
Laura Archila 3D (ties high)

It can’t all be good news:
BC Roedde 9TA (ties high)
Jeff Luckett 7TA (was 5)
Kevin Rabichow 6TA (ties high)

Side stats:
2 players remain undefeated – Debrah Cohen (5GP), Marianne Perko (4GP), regrets to Laura Wiese
1 player remains winless with >3GP – Allison Soong (4GP)
Ryan Buenesco leads the league at 1 TA in 6 GP (DNP this week to keep this lead)
It was a great week with a low number of drops overall but it looks like the pressure go to some of our streakers… A remarkable 21 players remain without a drop, special shout out to these groups:
9GP no drop – Melboure Ma, Rajiv Seneviratne, Allan Tong, Lin Hsu, Graham Haines and Brittany Heath
8GP no drop – Agatha Hodsman, Benjamin St. Louis and James Ho
Regrets to Evan Phillips (8 game streak), Chris Faulkner (8 game streak), David Ip (8 game streak), Maxim Tomashevsky (7 game streak) and Tyler Longo (7 game streak)
