Mid Season Tournament 2010
The Great Canadian Ultimate Game was fantastic as the score was tied 138-138 after finishing in Toronto! Congratulations to team Extra Blue Smurf for winning The CUPS tournament while team Floppy Disc finished 2nd! Just a recap, the tournament took place on the weekend of July 17th and 18th at Sunnybrook Park. Each team was guaranteed at least 5 games. There will be fruits and breakfast munchies provided and VC will be there again to sell Ultimate apparel and discs. Pivot will be back to provide on-site athletic therapy. Furthermore, from 4-5pm there will be a feature game for the Great Canadian Ultimate Game, a continuous game that will be played throughout Canada from coast to coast. Only TUC teams may enter and the cost is absolutely FREE. Both TUC and non-TUC individuals without a team may only join existing teams that are short on players (Team captains will be asked to confirm roster). In this case the cost for TUC members is free and $20 for non-TUC members. The tournament follows the league format, as all teams must be Co-ed (4:3/3:4). Prizing will be courtesy of VC and Steam Whistle.
Registration is now closed. Defaulted games at the tournament may impact your team’s eligibility to participate in the Summer League Playoffs. The deadline to withdraw without penalty is Wednesday July 14th at 11:59pm. If you have any questions, please email events@tuc.org

Great Canadian Ultimate Game
On Saturday of the tournament, from 4-5pm, TUC is participating in the ‘Great Canadian Ultimate Game’, the largest Ultimate game in the nation. Click here for details and signup online now!
The game will take place on Field 1. If you or any of your players wish to participate then we urge you to signup online by Friday at 5pm. After that if there are still spots available then we will accept additional walkup players on Saturday. Check-in will be at the TUC tent. A minimum $10 donation is required, and $20 donations can net you a charitable receipt. We will also be selling commemorative GCUG discs to honour the event and support the donation.
30th Anniversary Celebration
In case you aren’t yet aware, this year TUC is celebrating 30 years of Ultimate in Toronto. We are hosting an outdoor celebration event on September 12 and an indoor gala event on October 22. Check out www.tuc.org/30years.
This weekend we are doing a couple of things to promote these events. Firstly tickets are now on sale for the October 22 gala event. The first 100 early-bird tickets are only $40 (after that they go up to $50) so buy a ticket this weekend! We will have ticket sales on site so bring your cash!
Second, we are hosting a free CUPS competition during the Midseason Tournament. Depending on the number of participants, we plan to host preliminary games on Saturday and the finals on Sunday (in and around the games). Teams are made up of two players, one male and one female. Signup your team anytime between 9:00am to 12:30pm on Saturday. First CUPS games will be between 12:10pm and 1:50pm. Single elimination knockout (games to 11) with the finals on Sunday. THE WINNING TEAM WILL RECEIVE PRIZES AS WELL AS A CHANCE TO PLAY A SUPERSTAR/CELEBRITY CUPS TEAM ON SEPTEMBER 12 AT THE OUTDOOR CELERBATION EVENT!
