Catch the Spirit 2026 – Event Overview & Format
TUC and BE Ultimate are pleased to announce that the 19th annual Catch the Spirit Indoor High School Tournament will take place at Monarch Park Stadium, welcoming 32 high school programs across two separate tournament days. Catch the Spirit remains a highlight of the indoor calendar, celebrating the values that make our sport unique.
Tournament Format & Details
- Dates: Tuesday, February 24 and Thursday, February 26
- Separate one-day tournaments – 16 teams each day
- Time: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Location: Monarch Park Stadium
- Format: 6-on-6 continuous play (speedpoint)
- Gender Ratio: 3:3 (Male : Female)
- Divisions: A Division & B Division – teams may be placed accordingly
- Games: Minimum 4 × 35-minute games
- Up to 5 games if capacity allows
- Cost: $225 per team
Trophies and prizes will be awarded to Tournament Champions and Spirit Champions. We aim to have an on-site physiotherapist/first-aid provider to support athletes and coaches throughout the day.
Lottery Registration – How It Works
Because this event has sold out in just minutes over the past several years—including in less than three minutes in the past two seasons—registration is open now through Thursday, January 15 at NOON via a lottery registration system.
Team Selection for Tuesday A Division:
- The 8 most competitive teams in the Tuesday event will be selected using a mix of:
- 2025 Ultimate Canada High School Invitational results
- OFSAA results
- Previous Catch the Spirit results
- Coach discussions
Remaining 24 Spots:
- Determined by lottery from all registered teams.
Please Note:
Payment will NOT be taken at the time of entry. After the lottery is held, we will email selected coaches with instructions to complete payment and confirm their spot.
Payment Process – After the Lottery
- Coaches will receive an email once the lottery is completed
- Payment instructions will be provided at that time
- Spots are only confirmed after payment is finalized
This approach is being trialled to provide a fair and organized way for all programs to access the event.
