Volunteer of the Month
for September is Christine Gordon

Coby Markus - July Volunteer of the month

Christine Gordon is the TUC Volunteer of the Month for September 2008. Our September Playoff series would not have run nearly as well without Christine, who volunteered for the whole day on both weekends. Christine was our TUC central guru; collecting and reporting scores, updating the schedule, helping teams locate their next game, and solving problems along the way. She also helped with setup and takedown - a true volunteer machine! Christine’s cheerful enthusiasm and helpful nature made the playoffs enjoyable for players, spectators, and organizers alike.

Thanks Christine!!!

Each V.O.M. will receive $50 Scally’s Dollars that can be used towards any purchase at Scallywags.

TUC Seeking Juniors Chair for 2009

There are always volunteer opportunities with TUC (volunteers make this Club tick) and if you are interested in helping out your Club in any way please email volunteers@tuc.org. You can visit our TUC Contacts and Job Descriptions pages to see who’s involved and what they do.

Looking forward to 2009 and our increased focus on youth, TUC is seeking a committed volunteer with a specific interest on Juniors development. This person will assume the role of Juniors Chair and will work with the TUC staff to plan and execute events, leagues, and promotions specific to players under the age of 18. The role will entail a commitment of 1-2 hours per week and ideally attendance at Juniors functions. It is hoped the Chair will form a committee to share the workload and maximize development potential.

IMPORTANT NEWS

Fall BMO Indoor Leagues Starting Mid-November

Our Thursday Fall Indoor League has begun (the season of the Lamb) and our Fall outdoor leagues are rolling along smoothly. Last chance to play this Fall is on our sweet leagues at BMO Field!

BMO Indoor Co-ed Leagues run on Mondays and Tuesdays, beginning November 17 & 18 (not official start yet, but very likely). We have an intermediate/recreational league on Mondays and an Elite/Competitive league on Tuesdays; both leagues run to the end of January (10 weeks). All games are at BMO Field from 9pm – 12am, 55 minute games, 6-on-6 speedpoint. Cost is $1350 per team.

There are only 3 team spots and some individual spots left on Tuesdays!

For Tuesday BMO League we are now offering individual signups for ONE competitive hat team. Cost is $145 per person; registration and payment confirm your spot. Monday League is now full, although we may have room for one or two females on our hat team.

For those unfamiliar with BMO Field Indoor, it is a premier sport turf field at Exhibition Place which is covered in a huge climate-controlled dome for the fall/winter. At the conclusion of BMO Fall leagues in January we will run a Winter BMO League session (10 weeks) on Mondays and Tuesdays starting in early February.

The TUC office will also be closed on Thanksgiving Monday October 13, 2008.
