How do you deal with teams that constantly cheat?
Hello everyone,
I've had to play against a few teams that would try to gain any advantage they could by drawing their own fouls and contesting anything called against them without a second thought. Unfortunately with the way ultimate is self-officiated the only real way to punish these teams is to give a low spirit point score which doesn't really hold much weight in the grand scheme of things.
Any suggestions on how to deal with these types of teams/situations?

keep doing the low spirit score, eventually it will get noticed. either by them, other teams, or admins.

If you're not one to make passive aggressive comments like "What, no foul call?" to the receiver on something that's overthrown by 15 yards or "Not going to contest that?" when you call them out-of-bounds and they're out by 5 yards, you could always try a captain-to-captain discussion about it. This can be effective if it's just a couple of players doing it; probably less so when it's most of the team, but perhaps worth the effort. If they hear it again and again, it might start to sink in?
And when submitting the score, you also have the option to put in comments, or "upgrade" to an incident report if you think it's warranted.

Did you get that thing I sent you?

We used to passively aggressively yell "EABOD" to teams like this.
That was a while ago though.
Hope that helps!
