To the best of my knowledge, there are no rules forbidding you from screaming the stall count until you're blue in the face. It can be beneficial for your team to know how high you are in the count. However, when doing it as an "effective" means of distracting your opponent, you are teetering on the line between competitive edge and unsportsmanlike conduct. If you're on a national team, I'd say go for it but if you're playing at the rec level, it might be worth focusing on playing the game and not burning out your voice.

It helps me to focus on the game. I guess if it bothers a player or team, then they can say so. I don't feel like it's unsportsmanlike. Seems like 7 other people agree.

Why would anyone care how loud someone counts stalls???

I was told they care because it appears to be a tactic to "stun" the opponent and make them impatient or annoyed? I didn't know that my voice was annoying but someone out there does. Oh well, can't change that, but would be good to have a decibel rule on tuc.

Well if you've received complaints about it, it's probably bothering someone on the field and they've "said so". It's perfectly legal and there's no rules against yelling at the top of your lungs so everyone's going to agree to your poll. But if the other team's asked you nicely to tone it down a little (while your teammates can still all hear your stall count) and it doesn't affect your game, I don't see why not.

I only got a complaint at the end of the game that was not directly spoken to me so I had to ask. Of course I would comply if it was during the game. That's preferrable. Upfront and direct is much better than mentioning it as an afterthought. That's why I posted.

I think the problem is the ninjastars, especially a few key players, are getting on in years and are getting a little hard of hearing. A bit of extra enthusiasm is sometimes needed to get through to them. I wasn't on the field last night, and that may have contributed. Most people are usually too deaffened by my "UP", and "BREAK" calls to be bothered by the loud stall counts.

This is more of a spirit issue. Like spiking the disc while winning 13-0. Sure you can do it. But it's a dick move.

Really? Really? This is what people are complaining about? What if you count with a German accent and the handler has deep seated issues with the Germans? "Oooh! Your German accent really irritates me!" Is there a rule concerning that? What if you get to Stall Ten but the handler argues that you said "Chen". Is that a disputed call?

On a related subject, I played against a guy who used to put his hand in front of your face at disc space from your eyes (no matter where you moved your head). Seems like really bad spirit, but maybe not a foul?
