Upcoming clinics - Apr 27th and May 3rd

Postby discjockey » Wed Apr 16, 2008 4:22 pm

TUC is hosting two phenomenal clinics in the next few weeks to help you prepare for the Summer Season. We are hosting our popular TUC 'Team' Clinic on April 27 and our 'Skills, Drills, & Thrills' clinic for beginner players on May 3 in central Toronto. Read further for more details.

Apr 27 @ Eglinton Park, 3:30pm- 5:30pm - 'TEAM Clinic': Does your team struggle to get in sync? Need some help in getting the basics down? We are hosting a clinic for TUC summer/spring teams on Sunday April 27, 3:30pm! Captains can bring their teams down to the field for some expert instruction on basic team concepts, set plays, rule discussion, and how to play with Spirit of the Game. We will give your team the opportunity to learn some concepts TOGETHER and then try them out on the field. Cost is $5 per TUC member and $15 per non-TUC member. Everyone registers individually but you show up as a team on the day. Bring both a dark and light coloured shirt (for scrimmage) and lots of water to drink!

May 3 @ David Balfour Park, 1pm – 3:00pm – Skills, Drills, & Thrills Clinic: This is a beginner clinic and it is the perfect opportunity for new TUC members to come out and review the basics of the game. We’ll focus on throwing and catching as well as some simple game concepts and strategies. Our expert instructors will run you through drills and even include some ‘game’ action at the end. The clinic is co-ed and open to brand new players, novice players, or even intermediate level players who just want to work on their skills. Cost to participate is $5 for TUC members and $15 per non-TUC member. Bring both a dark and light coloured shirt (for scrimmage) and lots of water to drink!

Registration is open for the April 27 clinic and the May 3 clinic registration will be open soon. Email clinics@tuc.org with any further questions. See you there!

It appears that April 27th is a Monday.

Thanks,

Hi Alice,

You seem to have replied to a thread from last year. This years clinic will be on April 25.

April 25th: 12noon – 3pm, Riverdale East Park. Now that Spring has finally arrived, TUC is pleased to offer the first of our outdoor clinics! Designed specifically for newcomers to the game, as well as recreational players looking to advance their skills and knowledge, this THREE-HOUR CLINIC will help you shake off the winter rust and get ready for the outdoor play. Best of all, it’s FREE for TUC members! Read further for more details.

Prior to the clinic on April 25 we will be hosting our Annual TUC Field Cleanup at Riverdale Park. This will be from 10am-12pm and we are seeking lots of volunteers. Come early before the clinic and help out the Club! Visit our Be Ultimate! page for more info. See you there!

Ever wanted to know how to play in the wind, to your advantage? Or make throws confidently under pressure, and catch with consistency on the run? And just what is this vertical stack thing anyway? Join us, and find out more! This clinic is FREE to TUC members, and $10 per non-TUC member. Register online in our registration section anytime after April 17. Here’s what to expect for the clinic:
Beginners (newcomers to the game)

Quick intro and Q+A – 15 min
Warmup and dynamic stretches – 15 min
Throwing and catching skills – 30 min
Cutting and clearing skills – 25 min
Person-to-person defense – 25 min
