Subway Cancels Sub Club Program Due To Fraud

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Subway restaurants are canceling their Sub Club stamp program.
The company said people are stealing the stamps or making illegal copies of them, and it's costing Subway millions of dollars nationwide.
Sub Club stamps were designed to give discounts to loyal customers.
Subway owners said thousands of stamps are being stolen and sold on the Internet.
One roll of stamps can buy 650 subs. That's $5,000 worth of food.
"About 10 percent of the stamps that we receive in each store can be traced back to being fraudulent," Subway owner Ben Smith said.
Subway owners said they may offer discounted subs or daily specials in place of the Sub Club.
