For those who:

a) care, and
b) are counting

the Jays now have 5 corner infielders for 3 spots (1B, 3B, DH).

With the addition of Glaus and Overbay to the already crowded positions filled by Hinske, Hillenbrand and Koskie we are overloaded.

Unless JP has already got a trade lined up for some pitching or a corner outfielder with power, we are not going to have the bountiful season people are predicting - thoughts?

I think Koskie is as good as gone. They may move Hillenbrand into the OF, to play LF. What really sucks about getting Glaus is losing Hudson. Which makes the Jays weak defensively up the middle. With Pitchers like Halladay and Burnett, Groundball Pitchers, it may prove difficult.

Glaus' power is a welcome addition though...

I'm just so happy that they are doing something. However, the price tags for the pitchers are pretty steep given their respective performances to date.

Many sports writers keep talking about keeping up to the Yanks and the Red Sox but Boston sure seems to be letting a bunch of crucial players leave town recently.

Haven't been keeping up with off season stuff, except the big stuff of course, but how bout Aaron Hill at shortstop? Showed a good glove in his rookie year.

Aaron Hill will be playing second to replace O-Dog.

Russ Adams will remain the starting shortstop.

Hill will not have the range or glove of Hudson (gold glove winner) but will be adequate in the field and hopefully better at the dish. We lose some speed though.

It's not Hill that I was worried about. Russ Adams is slow, and doesn't have the range Hill did at second. A Hudson/Hill middle infield is much better defensively than Hill/Adams. But who knows, maybe the 40 runs extra we give up this year, Glaus will get 130 Rbi's instead of the 90 Koskie would have gotten.

I like that we got Ryan, he's going to be a big difference maker.
