Rant: Quiznos

Postby Wartank » Fri Feb 24, 2006 2:49 pm

According to their new ad campaign, Quiznos has recently discovered how to make a great thing better -- reducing the price of their subs.

I have recently discovered how Quiznos makes their subs cheaper: LESS SUB.

I remember the good ol' days when they wouldn't tell you how long their sandwiches at Quiznos were, because their size and volume completely overwhelmed other subs on the market. I remember when polishing off a large Quiznos sub would earn me a satisfyingly distended stomach and thorough meat coma.

Those days are gone. My sub today barely sated my appetite and it's a sad day for fast food eaters.

Can someone confirm, or better yet explain, what Quiznos has done?

Not sure if I can better explain, as you pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Their campaign essentially relies on the customers being to stupid to notice.

Not gonna work......... Those cork soakers!!

Here's confirming your allegations.

Maybe Quizno's should come out with a Filet-o-Fish sub Warren? That should win back a lifetime of loyalty from you.

Quiznos used to absolutely RULE. Then they cheaped out on the $3.99 special subs, eschewing their normal bread for those cheap roll-style buns, and cut down on the toppings. Then, if I'm not mistaken, they actually raised their prices, which pretty much took them out of our lunchtime rotation. So, it seems rather convenient that they're now DROPPING their prices after raising them a few months ago to try and make us think that we're getting some great deal. Meanwhile, it's STILL less sub than it used to be.

Ah, the good ol' days.

Now I'm hungry.
