Canada has not sent any teams.
United States has sent Seattle's Sockeye and the fabulous San Fran Fury in the Women's division.

See Fury live tonight at 6:30p EST, Wednesday 23rd against Revolution from Colombia. Colombia has been doing quite well on the international stage lately, so could be a closer game than expected.

Fury just won the 2011 USA Club Championships in the Women's Division for the 6th consecutive year. They will only have 16 players.
This is a WFDF sanctioned event.

...warm weather, so you'd think some Canadians would want to be there

The first LIVE broadcast of Fury vs. Revolution of Colombia at the 2011 PAUC was Fury 14 Revolution 8.
That was the Welcome to Medellin Showcase Game

2011 Pan American Ultimate Championships
November 23-27, Medellin Colombia
more LIVE streaming to come each day...

The First WFDF sanctioned Pan American Championships offering Open and Women's divisions with teams from United States, Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Argentina and Panama. 12 teams in Open including Colombia's Mixed team, Colombia Mixto and 8 in Women's.
Favourite's are obviously USA's Seattle Sockeye in Men, but also look for Colombia's Kie to do well. On the Women's side Revolution also from Colombia will probably be the team to meet San Fran's 2006-2011 USA Champs Fury in the Finals.

2011 Pan American Ultimate Championships, Medelin Colombia, Nov. 23 - Nov. 27
Coverage on Thursday was pretty bad, but yesterday's was good.

A little bit of excitement so far with EDP of Colombia giving Sockeye a mild scare yesterday, tied at 7's before the Fish could finally break taking the victory with one last break, 15-11. Fury seem to be cruising. Cool to see is Colombia's national mixed team playing in the Open division as part of their try out process.

LIVE all day Saturday, Women's Final 3:00p today, Saturday according to a Fury tweet. Open Finals tomorrow, I'm guessing.

Semi Finals look like this:

Open
Warao 13 vs. Voladores 9, both from Venezuela.
Sockeye W vs. home town favourites, Ki-e L, another close one.
Finals Sockeye vs. Waroa, maybe today after Women's at 3:00p

Women
Bamboo vs. Revolution, from Bogota and Medellin Colombia respectively.
Bamboo pulls off an exciting Universe victory 13-12.
Fury W vs. Mantis L of Venezuela.
3rd Place game. Revolution 13 vs. Mantis 3, game in progress at 1:22p
Finals today at 3:00p Bogota's Bamboo vs. Fury

2011 Pan American Ultimate Championships, Medellin Colombia, Nov. 23 - Nov. 26

Results
Open

Semis:
Sockeye got the local favourites, Ki-e in one semi and the top two Venezuelan teams, Warao Ultimate Turmero and Voladores met in the other. Ki-e stayed with Sockeye until 6's when the Fish scored on O to take a 7-6 lead before reeling off 5 breaks for a 12-6 score. Each team broke once more before the end of the 15-9 victory for Seattle Sockeye and their expected birth in the Finals.
In the Venezuelan showdown Warao rolled to a 15-9 victory as well to become the last challenger to maybe beat U.S.A.
Finals:
Saving their best for last Sockeye totally controlled the Final, taking an early 3-0 lead and winning easily 15-5 to capture the first Gold Medal in Open at the first Pan American Championships.

Women's
Semis:
In the Women's Semis San Francisco's dominate Fury met Mantis U.F. from Venezuela and in the other, two of the Colombian teams, Bamboo from Bogota and local heroes Revolution from Medellin. The Colombian game was a barn burner with Revolution in control late in the back and forth game before Bogota, down 12-9, went on a tear scoring on O, then breaking three times for an unbelievably exciting finish and a sweet come from behind 13-12 victory. Ouch for Revolution. In the other semi, Fury came to play and in true "USA 6 times in a row" championship form dominated the game and walked away with an easy 15-1 victory. Up 11-0 before Mantis got their lone goal and taking just over 40 minutes to seal the deal!
Finals
Bamboo was in tough against Fury and couldn't manage too much against the awesome ladies from San Fran. Fury winning the first Gold for women's at the PAUC by the same score as the Open Final, 15-5.

Ultimate Peace also attended the Championships preforming clinics for the local kids: http://seattleriot.org/news/2011/11/28/ ... -pauc-2011
