Field conditions for Playoffs
Not that I trust weathermen, but there is supposed to be a big storm tonight, with potentially a lot of rain. As we all know, the fields at Sunnybrook collect water and don't drain well.
If the City closes the fields, will there be any advance warning (like on the website), or do we have to show up at the fields at 8:00 a.m. with our fingers crossed? And if the fields are closed for part of the days, are there back-up / rain date plans for games that are cancelled?

Great question. We've been in contact with Sunnybrook about it and we'll be following up with the on-site foreman at 6am. If there is a really bad storm which affects our games (delays or cancelation) then we will definitely post a communication on the TUC website by 7am (we plan to post something regardless).
It is unlikely that games will be canceled; if the weather is really bad we may have to juggle some field locations or times, but the impact should be minimal.
Whenever in doubt, please go to the field! The worst thing a team or player can do is not show up, and then a team defaults and thereby hurts other teams.
In the event of a cancelation, we would aim to host any 'make-up' games the following weekend, likely on September 14.
See you all tomorrow at the field!
