  Dear TUC Member,

In This Layout:

Our Spring Leagues are now underway, and amazingly we’re on the brink of another exciting TUC summer season. Some nights for summer league are getting close to full, but we’ve managed to secure some additional fields and at the moment we’ve still got room on all nights. Sign up now! Spots are first-come first-serve and we will not be accepting registrations beyond the deadline of May 3.

Team fees for Summer League will be $800 per team and individual fees (for those who want to register as a solo player on a hat team) are $60 per person. Summer season is 15 guaranteed games, co-ed 7-on-7, games to 17, full field. Summer League will begin the week of May 18 and conclude the week of September 7. Playoffs (optional to teams) will be on Sept 12 and 19. For more information visit our Summer Leagues page.

Summer Team Captain’s Meeting – All Teams on May 13

This year there will be ONE Captain’s Meeting for ALL SUMMER LEAGUE TEAMS on Wednesday, May 13, 7pm – 9pm, Whistlers Grille, 995 Broadview Ave. Whistler’s Grille is located at 995 Broadview Ave, on the corner of Broadview and Mortimer/Pottery Roads. The meeting will be held UPSTAIRS in the McNeil Room, the stairs are located immediately to the left when you walk in the main door.

There are limited parking spaces (30) for the building; however street parking is FREE after 6pm on most surrounding streets. The venue is also within a 10 minute walk of Broadview Station. Please arrive no later than 7pm.

Please bookmark the date now and ensure that you (ideally the team captain) or a responsible team rep can attend. Team attendance is MANDATORY and if your team does not participate it will be sanctioned. Sending someone to quickly pick up your member packages or asking another team to do it for you does not qualify as attendance! If you are a captain on multiple teams though this is acceptable. Please have someone from your team attend and participate, it is very important that you do so.

There will be appetizers served and the upstairs bar will be open for those who wish to purchase a drink. Captains will pickup their permit books, membership packages for their teammates, and receive a FREE captain’s t-shirt from VC!

Captains don’t forget; please try to have all of your team players on your roster as ‘regular players’ no later than May 7.

Seeking Volunteers for Membership Packages & Field Cleanup Day

Two events this week that TUC is seeking volunteers for:

TUC Membership Package Assembly: April 22
We’re seeking volunteers to help us assemble TUC membership packages on Wednesday, April 22, 6pm – 8:30pm at the TUC office (near Bloor & Islington). Free pizza included!

Annual TUC Field Clean-Up Day: Saturday April 25, at Riverdale Park
In conjunction with Mayor David Miller’s community makeover program and Earth Day, TUC does its part to help keep our City clean. Each spring we visit a local City park and clean it up, giving back to the community and fostering a clean fields philosophy for our players. In previous years we have visited Flemingdon Park, Cedarvale Park, and Rosehill Reservoir. In 2009 we will visit Riverdale Park, a TUC favourite. We are looking for volunteers (no limit) to join us from 10am-12pm at Riverdale Park East on April 25. After the cleanup we’ll host our clinic and play some pickup!

Email if you are willing to help out with these great events.
