    Juniors Participation Policy

A friendly notice to all adult league team captains – if you have any players on your team who are between the ages of 16 and 18 then those players MUST have a Responsible Adult declared (to TUC) and present during all TUC adult league games. Not sure what the heck we’re talking about? Please read the TUC Juniors Participation Policy, which outlines adult league participation rules for Juniors.

All TUC teams are required to adhere to this policy and are subject to sanction if they are in violation.

Catch the Spirit High School Tournament: Feb 24 & 25

The Toronto Ultimate Club is hosting its 7th annual “Catch the Spirit” tournament for high school teams on Thursday February 24 & Friday February 25, 2010. CTS is a co-ed 6-on-6 indoor tourney that promotes Spirit and Ultimate development at the youth level.

This year the event will take place at LAMPORT STADIUM! The tournament has two divisions – the ‘B’ division (beginner/novice teams) will play only on Thursday February 24 and is limited to 12 teams. The ‘A’ division (mid-level/experienced teams) will play only on Friday February 25 and is limited to 12 teams. Registration will open on Monday, January 3. Spots go on a first-come first-serve basis including payment.

TUC is putting out a call to anyone who would like to volunteer for either tournament day. As well, if you know of any schools who may be interested, please let them know about “Catch the Spirit!” by sending this LAYOUT or referring them to the CTS section on our website.

IMPORTANT NEWS

Happy New Year - New TUC Roles

Our Club managers Jason Robinson (GM), and Ian Brooks, *new* Membership Development & Communications Manager, wish you a Happy New Year. Our managers are here to serve you, the TUC member, so don’t hesitate to contact us if you need anything!

We begin 2011 with an office restructuring that addresses our continued growth and ambitions to accomplish more for our membership. As mentioned previously and below, we are now hiring an Administration & Events Coordinator (AEC). The AEC will be responsible for running TUC events and also coordinating administrative tasks, registrations, and member services. The former Member Services Coordinator position has now been changed to Membership Development & Communications Manager (MDCM). The MDCM (Ian Brooks) will still coordinate leagues and some office administration, but will now also focus further on developmental opportunities (Juniors, clinics, etc), member communications, and membership promotions. Both MDCM and AEC will report to the General Manager. Marketing and continued field development will be primary roles for the GM in 2011.

We’ve got an exciting year ahead! We’ve already begun planning for 2011 and we look forward to announcing our new projects, new partners, and new offerings! To get a head start on the year visit our Events Calendar for tentative dates on TUC events in 2011.

Administration & Events Coordinator – Accepting Applications Until January 14

Until January 14, 2011, we are accepting applications for the position of Administration & Events Coordinator (AEC). The AEC will be an expanded role of the summer student position (Events Manager) and will now function year-round. The AEC will organize and execute TUC events as well as manage a variety of administrative roles and membership services for the Club.

This contract position will offer part-time hours in the fall/winter and full-time hours in the spring/summer. It will be ideal for a senior-level university student, part-time contractor, or retiree with superior administrative skills. The job details can be found here. TUC is an equal opportunity hiring organization.

Help us recruit the best possible candidate! Pass this along to your peers who you think are qualified and interested.
