Good Luck to TUC Players at USA Ultimate Regionals

On the weekend of October 9-10, several TUC Members will participating in all divisions of the USA Ultimate Club Championships (USAUCC) Series (previously known as the UPA Club Championships) Northeast Regionals in Devens, MA. For those who are unfamiliar with the USAUCC, it is a 3 stage tournament series (2 stages for Masters) where the best teams across USA and Canada compete for the USA National championships. Teams first stage of play is a sectionals tourny (Toronto is in the Upstate NY section) to qualify for the 2nd stage which is Regionals. Usually from Regionals the top 2 teams from each division gets a shot to participate in the final stage, The Championships.

The Championships takes place every year at the end of October in Sarasota, Florida where the top 16 teams teams in each division (12 in Masters) qualified for the right to battle it out to be named the National Championships.

Best of luck to GOAT (open), Capitals (women), Milton (mixed) and GLUM (Masters) in their quest to over take the USA Nationals. I believe this is our best chance ever to have TUC represented in all 4 divisions at the championships in Florida.

For more information on the USA Ultimate Club Championships visit their website at www.usaultimate.org.

August Volunteer of the Month – Jason Liu

Jason Liu is the TUC Volunteer of the Month for September 2010. He was our top volunteer at the TUC Summer Playoff Series, putting in long days to ensure the TUC managers had enough assistance. Jason could be found refilling water, collecting scores, setting up tents and banners… you name, he did it! A TUC Leaguer and MMV touring player, Jason is now on our great list of volunteers – a group of heroes that we cannot live without!

A big thanks to Jason for his help throughout the playoffs and Scally’s Cup.

Support your Club by volunteering, it’s how TUC was born and how it thrives today. Contact volunteers@tuc.org for more information.

Each V.O.M. will receive $50 Scally’s Dollars that can be used towards any purchase at Scallywags.

TUC Fall League Updates

Fall Outdoor Leagues are now in full swing! A reminder to all Fall Outdoor League players that we do not cancel games during inclement weather (unless extreme warnings in effect), as we do not have make-up dates. Go to the field and captains make the call! Also a friendly reminder to captains that you need to have your rosters updated ASAP if you do not already!

Attention all players – a friendly reminder that the following are not permitted at TUC premier turf fields: dogs/pets, food, sugared drinks. Also, please ensure bikes are not on the field surface and are kept in bike lock areas. Please abide by these rules! Breaking these rules jeopardizes TUC permits, and simply put, that is NOT cool.

Fall Indoor Leagues are filling up, or already full. Our Thursday Hangar League starts THIS THURSDAY Sept 30 and only a couple male and female spots remain. If you’re interested in these last spots contact the TUC head office – 647-345-8105.

Our only remaining space left for TEAM Fall Indoor registrations is on Monday nights at Lamport Stadium (all skill divisions on this night). There are still some INDIVIDUAL spots remaining for our Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday Leagues. We also offer a NEW MASTERS LEAGUE for players who are 33 years of age or older. Visit the Fall Indoor Leagues page for more details on all our indoor offerings.
