Fall Indoor 2026: Monday West - Mixed League @ LAMPORT | Team Lottery Registration

The Monday West Mixed Gender League is a 6-on-6 offering and will be open to Competitive, Intermediate, and Recreational teams in a ladder system, similar to our Summer league play. Registration will primarily be by team, but we will take up to 16 players for one HAT team.

NOTES:

  1. Please note that HAT teams run the risk of being cancelled if they do not have at least 9 open players and 5 female-identifying players registered fourteen (14) days before the league start date. HAT team registrants will be sent an email twenty-one (21) days before the league starts to let them know the current registration status of the HAT team.
  2. When you submit your registration, you may receive a notice that your “Reservation has expired”.  Do not worry.  If you have hit submit, your registration has been received.  This is occurring because we are not accepting payments until the lottery winners have been confirmed.

NEW FOR FALL 2026 — TEAM REGISTRATION LOTTERY

In recent seasons, demand for Monday West has meant that available team spaces can fill within minutes of registration opening.

Following feedback from members at our AGM earlier this year, TUC is moving Monday West team registration to a lottery process for Fall Indoor 2026.

The goal is to provide teams with a more equitable opportunity to access the league, rather than having registration become a race to secure one of the available spaces within the first few minutes.

There is no advantage to registering earlier during the lottery registration window. All eligible team registrations completed before the published deadline will be included in the lottery process.

The lottery applies to team registrations only. Individual registration for the HAT team will remain first come, first served.

Registration Questionnaire

As part of the team lottery registration questionnaire, teams will be asked to provide:

  • their previous year's team rating;
  • their final standing from the previous season;
  • their anticipated division of participation for Fall Indoor 2026; and
  • a preliminary roster of a minimum of 10 players (4 FMP and 6 OMP).

The preliminary roster does not need to be your final roster for the season. It is being collected to help TUC confirm team entries and administer the lottery fairly.

Protecting Access Across Levels of Play

Monday West has a maximum capacity of 24 teams, including one HAT team. This leaves 23 spaces available through team registration.

To help maintain reasonable access across the different levels of play, TUC will protect up to:

Elite/Competitive — 7 teams
Intermediate — 8 teams
Recreational — 8 teams

These are not fixed quotas. The number of spaces allocated to each lottery group will depend on the teams that actually register.

For example, if only five teams register and are classified as Elite/Competitive, five spaces would be allocated to that group. The remaining available spaces would be redistributed to the Intermediate and/or Recreational groups based on registration demand.

As a result, the final league may not have a 7/8/8 distribution.

The intent is not to create predetermined divisions. It is to provide reasonable access to Monday West for teams across the range of competitive levels represented in the registration pool.

Once the league is established, the ladder system and TUC's usual processes for protecting the quality of play will do their job, allowing teams to move based on results and helping provide appropriate competitive matchups throughout the season.

Determining Lottery Groups

Teams will identify their anticipated division of participation as part of the registration questionnaire.

TUC will review the information provided, including previous team rating, final standing, anticipated division, preliminary roster and, where applicable, previous Monday West participation and standings.

TUC reserves the right to place a team in a different lottery group where the available information indicates that another group more accurately reflects the team's expected level of play.

Lottery-group placement is for the purposes of administering the lottery only. It does not determine a team's final division or ladder placement for the season.

How the Lottery Works

Once registration closes, TUC will review all eligible entries and determine the number of spaces available within each lottery group based on registration demand.

If there are enough spaces for all eligible teams within a lottery group, those teams will receive league spaces and any unused spaces will be redistributed to the other groups based on demand.

If there are more eligible teams than available spaces within a lottery group, a lottery will be conducted for those spaces.

Each eligible team will receive:

1 ballot

The top two Spirit teams from each of the A, B, and C divisions from the previous Monday West season will receive:

+1 additional Spirit ballot

Eligible Spirit teams will therefore have a maximum of two ballots in the lottery.

One Team = One Entry

The Monday West team lottery operates on a simple principle:

One team = one lottery entry.

Multiple registrations of the same team, franchise, or a substantially similar roster will not provide additional lottery entries or ballots.

TUC may review preliminary rosters and previous Monday West team information to identify duplicate or substantially similar entries.

We recognize that rosters change and that legitimate new teams form from season to season. New teams are welcome to enter the lottery.

The purpose of this review is simply to ensure that registering the same team multiple times does not provide an advantage in the lottery.

After the Lottery

Teams will be notified of the lottery results following the draw.

Teams selected for one of the 23 available team spaces will receive instructions for completing their Monday West league registration and payment.

The lottery determines access to Monday West — not final competitive placement. Once the league is established, TUC will seed teams as appropriately as possible, and the ladder system and TUC's usual quality-of-play processes will take over throughout the season.

REMINDER:  When you submit your registration, you may receive a notice that your “Reservation has expired”.  Do not worry.  If you have hit “submit”, your registration has been received.  This is occurring because we are not accepting payments until the lottery winners have been confirmed.
