Today marks the 16th annual International Transgender Day of Visibility.
Today, we celebrate transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse people worldwide and within the TUC community. We recognize both the progress made toward equity and the work that still lies ahead.
In light of the IOC’s recent decision that will prevent transgender women from participating in the LA28 Olympics, it’s clear that the fight for inclusion and equity is far from over. Trans rights are human rights. Decisions like this set back progress and reinforce the urgency of continued advocacy.
Now more than ever, we must live our core value of inclusion—by educating ourselves on transgender issues, raising our voices against transphobia in all its forms, and committing to the ongoing work needed to protect and uplift trans lives.
We see you, and we love you!
